Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for permitting a wireless power receiver to be charged by a wireless power transmitter. The method includes generating a Power Receiving Unit (PRU) control signal including permission information indicating charging permission for the wireless power receiver; and transmitting the PRU control signal to the wireless power receiver.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a control method of a wireless power transmitter for transmitting charging power to a wireless power receiver. The control method includes receiving a communication request signal for transmitting a wireless power from the wireless power receiver, determining whether to set a communication with the wireless power receiver based on the received communication request signal, when it is determined to set the communication with the wireless power receiver, transmitting a charge command signal to control an on state of a load switch at a predetermined point in time to the wireless power receiver, applying the charging power and detecting a load change by the wireless power receiver at the predetermined point in time.
Abstract:
A method and a wireless power transmitter are provided for transmitting wireless power to at least one wireless power receiver. The method includes setting, by the wireless power transmitter, a search channel to be used for communication with the at least one wireless power receiver; detecting at least one of an energy level and a Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) value of a signal received on the search channel; and determining whether to designate the search channel as a communication channel based on the detection results.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for advance detection of output power, before arrival at a boundary frequency between an inband and an outband during frequency tracking in a wireless charging apparatus, the wireless charging apparatus including a first resonator resonating at a lower-limit frequency of the inband and a second resonator resonating at an upper-limit frequency of the inband, to adaptively adjust the frequency based on the power values output from the first and second resonators, and to determine a power transmission control value corresponding to the adjusted frequency, thereby enabling frequency control and power control within the inband.
Abstract:
A method and power transmitter for efficiently controlling power transmission to one or more power receivers in a wireless multi-power transmission system are provided. The method includes performing, when a predetermined measurement cycle arrives, a load measurement; comparing a current load measurement value with a previous load measurement value; determining whether the current load measurement value is increased over the previous load measurement value by at least as much as a first predetermined threshold; gradually increasing, when the load measurement value is increased over the previous load measurement value by at least as much as the first threshold, a transmission power value until a request for a subscription to a wireless multi-power transmission network from a power reception target within a predetermined time limit; and stopping, when the request for the subscription is not received before the time limit is exceeded, power transmission to the power reception target.
Abstract:
A method for controlling an electronic device including a charging circuit is provided. The method includes receiving power wirelessly from a power transmitting device; rectifying the received power; based on a voltage of the rectified power being greater than or equal to an allowable voltage of the charging circuit, controlling to convert the rectified power through a converting circuit of the electronic device and to output the converted power to the charging circuit for charging a battery of the electronic device, wherein the allowable voltage relates to a maximum voltage or a preferable voltage to be applied to the charging circuit; and based on the voltage of the rectified power being less than the allowable voltage of the charging circuit, controlling to stop converting the rectified power and to output the rectified power to the charging circuit by connecting the rectifying circuit to the charging circuit.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for operating a wireless power transmitter. The method includes controlling the wireless power transmitter to wirelessly transmit power for charging a first power receiver, and while transmitting the power, receiving a search signal from a second power receiver, transmitting a search response signal corresponding to the search signal, and receiving, from the second power receiver, a request join signal including at least one piece of information associated with a power requirement of the second power receiver. Based on identifying that the wireless power transmitter is capable of providing the power having an amount greater than the power requirement of the second power receiver, the method further includes transmitting a charge start command to the second power receiver.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for determining, by a wireless power transmitter, whether a wireless power receiver is removed from a wireless power network managed by the wireless power transmitter. The method includes transmitting a command signal to report power information of the wireless power receiver at stated periods; determining whether a report signal corresponding to the command signal is received from the wireless power receiver; and determining that the wireless power receiver is removed from the wireless power network, if the report signal is not received after transmitting the command signal a predetermined number of times at the stated periods.
Abstract:
A method of controlling a wireless power receiver. The method includes receiving, by a power receiver, power from a wireless power transmitter; receiving, from the wireless power transmitter, a time set value that is set for checking cross connection; in response to receiving the time set value, generating a power variation in the wireless power receiver by converting a load status from a first load status to a second load status; and maintaining the second load status for a time corresponding to the received time set value.
