    摘要: An optimum power set value Pwp1 for Layer 1 obtained by an OPC is used as an initial value Pw21 of the OPC for Layer 2. From the β value obtained by performing a test recording at the initial value Pw21 and the inclination Ia, an approximation line of a β value for Layer 2 (recording power to the β value) is obtained. Then, on the obtained approximation line, a laser power for providing a target β value (βt) is obtained, and set as an optimum power Pwp2 for Layer 2. Thus, an optimum power setting conforming to characteristics of a disc can be performed. As a result, setting the optimum power for Layer 2 can be performed more smoothly and quickly.

In particular, the display panel has a voltage-transmittance characteristic that a minimum value and maximum value of the transmittance are obtained in a state where the liquid crystal driving voltage exceeds a transfer threshold level at which an energy of the splay alignment is balanced with an energy of the bend alignment, and the display panel control circuit is configured to vary the liquid crystal driving voltage in a range corresponding to the minimum and maximum values of transmittance.

    摘要: An active matrix type liquid crystal display composed of a liquid crystal cell 124 is described. In the liquid crystal cell 124, liquid crystals at the upper and lower interfaces of a liquid crystal layer 122 inserted between an array substrate 106 having pixel electrodes 128 and an opposed substrate 105 having an opposed electrode 127 have pretilt angles opposite to each other in a positive/negative sense and are aligned in parallel with each other, forming a spray alignment. This liquid crystal display performs displaying by bend-aligning such a liquid crystal cell 124. The pixel electrodes 128 are formed on a flattening film 100 for covering switching elements 123 or wiring electrodes flat. With this arrangement, a spray to bend alignment transition can be reliably, easily caused in a short time within the liquid crystal cell pixels, so that an OCB mode liquid crystal display free from alignment defects and having high picture quality can be achieved.
