    Abstract: A cell site router communicatively coupled to an access node and configured to transmit data between the access node and an external network is further configured to determine a packet loss occurring at a port of the cell site router and adjust a size of a buffer of the cell site router based on the packet loss. The buffer can be associated with the port and/or a RAT associated with the port, and a latency requirement of the data transmission can be considered when adjusting buffer sizes.

    Abstract: A method and system identify a congestion parameter for multiple ports of a cell site router (CSR) and determine a characteristic of a wireless device communicating using the CSR. The method and system further assign the wireless device to a port of the CSR based on the characteristic of the wireless device and the congestion parameter. The method and system have the effect of assigning wireless devices having more capabilities to ports having the most congestion as the more capable devices are more likely to have sufficient retransmission power in the event of congestion.

    Abstract: Systems and methods provide inter-band EN-DC coverage combinations to wireless devices in a cell wherein each inter-band coverage has corresponding handover criteria. The method includes determining a power class for at least one wireless device, wherein the power class is one of a high-power class and a low power class. The method additionally includes comparing the handover criteria of at least two inter-band coverage combinations to identify relaxed handover criteria and assigning the high-power class wireless device to an inter-band coverage combination having the relaxed handover criteria.

    Abstract: Subcarrier spacing is selected based on a change in an antenna configuration of an access node, wherein a spectral efficiency of the access node is reduced by the change in the antenna configuration. For example, the change in the antenna configuration is based on the access node deploying additional radio air interfaces using a limited quantity of antenna elements. The subcarrier spacing for at least one radio air interface is increased based on the reduction in spectral efficiency.

    Abstract: Load balancing based on pairing efficiency includes monitoring a pairing efficiency metric of each carrier deployed by an access node, the access node being configured to utilize 5G EN-DC, and offloading wireless devices from a first carrier having a lower pairing efficiency to a second carrier having a higher pairing efficiency. Offloading includes adjusting reference signals associated with 4G and 5G carriers.
