    摘要: The subject matter of the invention is constituted by a method and an apptus for the protection of a liquid in a container against the effects of atmospheric oxygen by the use of a fluid, which is placed as a barrier layer between the liquid to be protected and the atmosphere. The protective fluid is a liquid whose specific gravity is less than the specific gravity of the liquid to be protected and has a volume which is kept constant for the desired period of operation. The liquid which is protected is taken from the container under the protective liquid.

    摘要: A liquid body of volatile inorganic chemical which reacts with water and evolves acidic vapor, such as liquid sulfur trioxide, is treated to suppress the evolution of said noxious vapors therefrom to the atmosphere by applying to the exposed surface of said liquid body a treating agent comprising glass microbubbles having on the surfaces thereof an adherent film resulting from the application to said surfaces of a fluoroaliphatic radical-containing material selected from the group consisting of fluorosilane or poly(fluorosiloxane).
