A technique of directly and simply operating image data stored in an external storage device using a camera is provided. To accomplish this, an image processing device connectable to a network, comprises a connection unit configured to connect to an imaging device, an acquisition unit configured to acquire image data captured by the imaging device from an external device on the network, in accordance with a user operation on the imaging device, and a display control unit configured to display the image data acquired by the acquisition unit and image data stored in the imaging device in accordance with a display unit of the imaging device.

A first information processing apparatus selects an apparatus-to-be-used from among a plurality of image processing apparatuses that are communicable through a first communication line, and receives terminal identification information which identifies a second information processing apparatus carried by a user, from the second information processing apparatus through a wireless second communication line. The first information processing apparatus transmits location presentation information to the second information processing apparatus, and transmits the terminal identification information to the apparatus-to-be-used. The image processing apparatus executes a process of guiding the user to the image processing apparatus when the terminal identification information received from the first information processing apparatus and the terminal identification information received from the second information processing apparatus match each other.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus, a method of controlling the same and a non-transitory computer readable recording medium are described in which it is possible to disable a particular one of the functions which are implemented using the same communication protocol. A multifunction peripheral (MFP) is capable of communicating with terminal devices. The MFP acquires a capability information request transmitted from the terminal device, returns a capability notification to the terminal device which has transmitted the capability information request, and determines the capabilities which is required by the function that is set to be disabled from among different functions. In this case, the MFP does not notify, as a supported capability, the required capability even if it can be handled by the MFP. Namely, the capability notification is returned such that this capability is not supported.

A terminal apparatus may receive first information relating to a first function executing apparatus from the first function executing apparatus. The first function executing apparatus may be configured to execute a scan function. The terminal apparatus may cause a display mechanism of the terminal apparatus to display a first image indicating M1 items of communication schemes by using the first information. Each of the M1 items of communication schemes may be a communication scheme available for the first function executing apparatus to send scan data.

A master device images an object device and uses the image to identify the object device. The master device then automatically interfaces with the identified object device, for example, by pairing with the object device. The master device interfaces with a second object device and initiates an interface between the first object device and the second object device. The master device may receive broadcast data from the object device including information about the visual appearance of the object device and use the broadcast data in the identification of the object device. The master device may retrieve data related to the object device and display the related data, which may be display the data over the displayed image of the object device. The master device may provide an interface to control the object device or be used to pass data to the object device.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus which communicates with a first terminal device includes a first display unit which displays display data, a storage unit which stores first ability information relating to a display ability of the first display unit, an operation panel management unit which is provided at the first terminal device, obtains second ability information relating to a display ability of a second display unit which displays display data, and compares the obtained second ability information to the first ability information which is stored in the storage unit; and a control unit which determines whether to display display data as a display target on the first display unit, or on the second display unit.
