Abstract: An organic electroluminescence device and a heterocyclic compound, the device including a first electrode; a hole transport region on the first electrode; an emission layer on the hole transport region; an electron transport region on the emission layer; and a second electrode on the electron transport region, wherein the emission layer includes a heterocyclic compound that includes a nitrogen-containing monocycle, at least one linker, and two or more carbazole moieties, the at least one linker is a substituted or unsubstituted dibenzofuran group or a substituted or unsubstituted dibenzothiophene group, and at least one of the carbazole moieties and the nitrogen-containing monocycle are bonded to the at least one linker in an ortho relationship.

Abstract: An organic electroluminescence device includes an emitting region between a cathode and an anode, a first anode side organic layer, and a second anode side organic layer. The emitting region includes at least a first emitting layer, the first anode side organic layer is in direct contact with the second anode side organic layer, the first anode side organic layer contains first and second organic materials, a content of the first organic material in the first anode side organic layer is less than 50 mass %, the second anode side organic layer contains a second hole transporting zone material, the first emitting layer is an emitting layer that emits fluorescence, and a refractive index NM1 of the constituent materials contained in the first anode side organic layer and a refractive index NM2 of the constituent material contained in the second anode side organic layer satisfy a relationship of NM1>NM2.

Abstract: The present invention relates to organic light-emitting devices comprising (a) an anode, (i) a cathode, and (e) an emitting layer between the anode and cathode, comprising 2 to 40% by weight of a triplet emitter X having a difference of the singlet energy (ES1(X)) and the triplet energy (ET1(X)) of less than or equal to 0.4 eV [Δ(ES1(X)) −(ET1(X))≤0.4 eV], 0.05 to 5.0% by weight of a fluorescent emitter Y and 55 to 97.95% by weight of a host compound(s), wherein the amount of the triplet emitter X, the fluorescent emitter Y and the host compound(s) adds up to a total of 100% by weight and the singlet energy of the triplet emitter X(ES1(X)) is greater than the singlet energy of the fluorescent emitter Y(ES1(Y)) [(ES1(X))>ES1(Y)]. By doping, for example, an emitting layer containing a luminescent organometallic complex having a small S1-T1 splitting, with a fluorescent emitter the emission decay time can significantly be shortened without sacrificing external quantum efficiency (EQE) because of very efficient energy transfer.
