Methods, systems, and products describe hands-free operation of a communications device. A user defines a command prefix that is recognized as preceding one of several voice commands. When the user speaks the command prefix, a processor identifies the spoken command prefix and treats a next spoken word as one of the voice commands. The voice command may then be executed for control. The command prefix thus helps avoid control confusion when the voice command is inadvertently spoken.

A system, method and program product for providing voice response unit (VRU) harvesting. A system is provided that includes: an account management system for allowing a user to identify a set of VRUs and associated data desired from each VRU; a navigation system for automatically navigating each VRU and collecting the desired data from each VRU; and an output system for outputting the desired data for the user.

A system and method are provided for receiving inbound conventional calls and establishing real-time interconnectivity in a multimedia production environment. The system may include: a signaling unit; a contact center bell application, a particular reflector associated with a virtual hangout, and a contact center manager application. The system may further include a room manager application. The method may include: transmitting a call request to the integration unit, wherein call information corresponding to the call request is sent to the contact center manager; and connecting to the communications session, which corresponds to a virtual hangout identification received by the integration unit from the contact center manager based on the call information.

A method, apparatus, and computer usable program product for selecting a network for telecommunication are provided. A type of network supporting a called identifier is identified. Several types of networks are accessible to a calling communication device. A database is queried with a query including the called identifier to identify the types of networks that are accessible to a called communication device. A network corresponding to the called communication device is selected at the calling communication device. A communication session is established between the calling and called communication devices using the selected network.

A system and method for processing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) data including determining whether received audio data is VoIP data, transferring, when received audio data is VoIP data, the received VoIP data to a first path, and transferring, when received audio data is not VoIP data, the received audio data to a second path. The system and method can process, when received audio data is VoIP data, the received VoIP data via a VoIP data processing path including a voice engine for VoIP, instead of an audio data processing path, irrespective of types of mobile devices and types of applications.

Security is improved in a communication system in which a communication connection is established when a user who has received a software button on his computing device (a Recipient) clicks on the button. When a Recipient first actuates a software button, a basic type of communication connection is established, during which the Recipient's identity can be verified. The Recipient then establishes a personal identification code, which he will have to provide upon future actuations of the software button. The system then enables other types of communication connections to be established by the Recipient. After the Recipient actuates the software button and verifies his identity, the system remembers the identity and location of the computing device he is using. When the Recipient subsequently actuates the software button, the identity and location of his computing device are checked, and verification of his identity is suppressed if they have not changed.
