    摘要: In an embodiment, a reflector comprises a polycarbonate composition, the polycarbonate composition comprises: polycarbonate; 10 wt % to 20 wt % titanium dioxide, based upon a total weight of the polycarbonate composition; an optional flame retardant; and an optional UV stabilizer. A plaque formed from the polycarbonate composition has a reflectance of greater than or equal to 95%, as determined by reflectance measurements using a Gretag Macbeth Coloreye spectrophotometer (D65 light source, 10 degree observer, UV included) made at a wavelength of 680 nm. A molded article of the polycarbonate has transmission level greater than or equal to 90.0% at 2.5 mm thickness as measured by ASTM D1003-00 and a yellow index (YI) less than or equal to 1.5 as measured by ASTM D1925.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a polyorganosiloxane having the structure of Formula I: wherein, R1 and R2 are independently a hydrocarbon radical, an unsaturated radical, an alkoxy radical, an aryl radical or an alkenyloxy radical. R3 is an organic UV absorbing group, R4 independently is a direct bond, hydrocarbon radical optionally substituted with oxygen and nitrogen, or a group of Formula II(a) or Formula II(b) wherein A and B are a hydrocarbon radical, R5 is independently a hydrogen, a halogen, an aliphatic group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an aromatic group having 6 to 8 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or an aryloxy group, R6 is independently a hydroxyl group, an amine group, an acid chloride group, or a sulfonyl halide group, x is from 1 to 300, y is from 0 to 50 and z is from 1 to 50. The polyorganosiloxane is used to make various copolymers or polymer blends. A variety of articles can be made using the polysiloxane described as a polymer blend or copolymer.

    摘要: A polycarbonate resin composition includes: (D) about 1 to about 10 parts by weight of a silicon-based resin; (E) about 1 to about 10 parts by weight of a core-shell graft copolymer; and (F) about 1 to about 20 parts by weight of a flame retardant, with respect to about 100 parts by weight of a base resin including: (A) about 70 to about 90 wt % of a polycarbonate resin; (B) about 9 to about 25 wt % of a polysiloxane-polycarbonate copolymer; and (C) about 1 to about 10 wt % of an aromatic vinyl-based graft copolymer. The polycarbonate resin composition can have improved releaseability and external appearance, and excellent impact strength and coloring.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a flame retardant composition comprising 20 to 80 weight percent of a polycarbonate composition; where the polycarbonate composition comprises a polysiloxane-carbonate copolymer; an impact modifier in an amount of 0.5 to 25 weight percent; and 1 to 20 weight percent of a phosphazene compound; where all weight percents are based on the total weight of the flame retardant composition. Disclosed herein too is a method comprising blending 20 to 80 weight percent of a polycarbonate composition; where the polycarbonate composition comprises a polysiloxane-carbonate copolymer; an impact modifier in an amount of 0.5 to 25 weight percent; and 1 to 20 weight percent of a phosphazene compound to produce a flame retardant composition; where all weight percents are based on the total weight of the flame retardant composition; and extruding and molding the flame retardant composition.
