    摘要: The improved charcoal starter design has several improvements, one being that it utilizes either; readily combustible materials like wadded up paper or a removable or replaceable common electric heating element to heat charcoal to incandescent and safely deposit hot embers into the grill. The common electric heating element is held in place through a clip fixedly attached to the inside of the charcoal starter housing walls and opposite of the opening for the electric heating element. Yet another improvement to this unique charcoal starter designed is the perforated grate having at least one hinge on one side and at least one notch on the opposite side, a release mechanism consisting of a thermally insulated release handle and a release bar with at least one protrusion such that when the release mechanism is activated by pulling the release handle, the protrusion of the release bar aligns with the notch of the perforated hinged grate and the perforated hinged grate will then rotate about the hinge in a downward direction creating an opening and thus allowing the incandescent embers to be deposited safely into the grill where needed and without danger of hot embers and ash being splashed about and possibly injuring the user.

A second count of oscillations of the oscillator is generated during a second period of a known duration. The duration of the first period is calculated based on the first count and the second count. A solid-state, thin-film battery is able to be used by virtue of low-current characteristics of the system, enabling extended shelf life for fuzing systems.

    摘要: Wireless detonators, and corresponding wireless detonator systems present opportunities for blasting arrangements that avoid the need for physical wire connections between the blasting components. The present application discloses a wireless detonator assembly, a corresponding blasting apparatus, and a method of use thereof. The wireless detonator assembly comprises a charge storage device that is capable of storing charge for discharge into a firing circuit upon receipt of an appropriate wireless command signal to FIRE, from an associated blasting machine. In preferred embodiments, the charge storage device remains or becomes charged, at least for a specific time period, if the wireless detonator assembly receives a suitable “keep alive” command signal from an associated blasting machine—otherwise the charge storage device discharges with little or no effect upon the firing circuit, such that the wireless detonator assembly retain or adopts a safe mode.

The heat loop of the electric element is disposed in the interior of the sleeve and the insulated handle of the element is secured to the exterior wall of the sleeve. In use the device is placed directly onto the pan, or coal-holding grate, of a charcoal grill, the sleeve is filled with the desired amount of charcoal briquets or the like, and the electric element is plugged in to ignite the briquets. When the desired degree of ignition is obtained, the device is lifted by the handle leaving the ignited coals in place.
