摘要: A method comprising providing, on a substrate, a stack for an energy storage device, the stack comprising a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, and an electrolyte layer between the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer. A groove is formed at least through the second electrode layer and the electrolyte layer such that the groove is wider in the second electrode layer than in the electrolyte layer. An electrically insulating material is provided in the groove. An electrically conductive material is provided in the groove, on the electrically insulating material.

摘要: A solid-state device includes a substrate with a stack of constituent thin-film layers that define an arrangement of electrodes and intervening layers. The constituent layers can conform to or follow a non-planar surface of the substrate, thereby providing a 3-D non-planar geometry to the stack. Fabrication employs a common shadow mask moved between lateral positions offset from each other to sequentially form at least some of the layers in the stack, whereby layers with a similar function (e.g., anode, cathode, etc.) can be electrically connected together at respective edge regions. Wiring layers can be coupled to the edge regions for making electrical connection to the respective subset of layers, thereby simplifying the fabrication process. By appropriate selection and deposition of the constituent layers, the multi-layer device can be configured as an energy storage device, an electro-optic device, a sensing device, or any other solid-state device.

摘要: The disclosed technology generally relates to energy storage devices, and more particularly to energy storage devices comprising frustules. According to an aspect, a supercapacitor comprises a pair of electrodes and an electrolyte, wherein at least one of the electrodes comprises a plurality of frustules having formed thereon a surface active material. The surface active material can include nanostructures. The surface active material can include one or more of a zinc oxide, a manganese oxide and a carbon nanotube.

摘要: Aspects relate to patterned nanostructures having a feature size not including film thickness of below 5 microns. The patterned nanostructures are made up of nanoparticles having an average particle size of less than 100 nm. A nanoparticle composition, which, in some cases, includes a binder, is applied to a substrate. A patterned mold used in concert with electromagnetic radiation function to manipulate the nanoparticle composition in forming the patterned nanostructure. In some embodiments, the patterned mold nanoimprints a pattern onto the nanoparticle composition and the composition is cured through UV or thermal energy. Three-dimensional patterned nanostructures may be formed. A number of patterned nanostructure layers may be prepared and joined together. In some cases, a patterned nanostructure may be formed as a layer that is releasable from the substrate upon which it is initially formed. Such releasable layers may be arranged to form a three-dimensional patterned nanostructure for suitable applications.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a smart wearable lens mounted with an all-solid-state thin film secondary battery including a flexible substrate, a cathode current collector, a cathode, a solid electrolyte, an anode, and an anode current collector. The smart wearable lens mounted with the all-solid-state thin film secondary battery may be stably and continuously supplied with power and has a low self-discharge rate. In addition, the smart wearable lens may minimize aversion when humans are wearing the smart wearable lens and be suitably used for a curved lens, especially a micro-lens such as a contact lens.

摘要: A power storage device includes a positive electrode part including a first metallic foil layer and a positive electrode active material layer partially laminated on one surface of the first metallic foil layer, a negative electrode part including a second metallic foil layer and a negative electrode active material layer partially laminated on one surface of the second metallic foil layer, and a separator arranged between the positive electrode part and the negative electrode part. The positive electrode active material layer is arranged between the first metallic foil layer and the separator, and the negative electrode active material layer is arranged between the second metallic foil layer and the separator. The peripheral regions of the one surfaces of the first and second metallic foil layers in which the positive and negative electrode active material layers are not formed are joined via a peripheral sealing layer containing a thermoplastic resin.

The anode structured surface can be coated with an anodic active material and the cathode structured surface can be coated with a cathodic active material.

摘要: Batteries and methods of forming the same include an anode structure, a cathode structure, and a conductive overcoat. The anode structure includes an anode substrate, an anode formed on the anode substrate, and an anode conductive liner that is in contact with the anode. The cathode structure includes a cathode substrate, a cathode formed on the cathode substrate, and a cathode conductive liner that is in contact with the cathode. The conductive overcoat is formed over the anode structure and the cathode structure to seal a cavity formed by the anode structure and the cathode structure. At least one of the anode substrate and the cathode substrate is pierced by through vias that are in contact with the respective anode conductive liner or cathode conductive liner.
