    摘要: An improved projectile trap assembly includes a frame that supports a channel and a containment chamber. The containment chamber has an ingress point receiving a fired bullet and an egress point for distributing the bullet. The containment chamber is supported by a pair of bulkhead plates that are connected to the frame. Each bulkhead plate defines an aperture, with a scroll assembly being mounted between bulkhead plates proximate the aperture. The scroll assembly includes a front scroll affixed and a rear scroll detachably connected to the bulkhead plates. A side plate is detachably connected to the bulkhead plate opposite said front and rear scrolls to seal the scroll assembly to receive bullets. The containment chamber additionally includes upper and lower trap plates that are positioned proximate upper and lower channel plates at the ingress point. Finally, a plurality of collection buckets positioned below said front scroll in an adjustable position.

    摘要: A bullet trap apparatus is provided for capturing an associated bullet traveling along a substantially linear trajectory. The bullet trap apparatus includes a support frame and a flowable material disposed on an upper surface of the support frame. The support frame has an upper surface configured to support associated material. The flowable material is disposed on the upper surface of the support frame substantially on the linear trajectory, and includes a plurality of sheets of substantially rectangular material. Each of the sheets are configured for deflecting the associated bullet from its substantially linear path and absorbing energy from the associated bullet by the deflecting, thereby slowing the traveling of the associated bullet through the flowable material. The flowable material includes a plurality of sheets of substantially rectangular material, each of the sheets including a rubber material and one or more sheets of a fabric material formed of woven strands coupled with the rubber material.

    摘要: A backstop for decelerating and trapping projectiles generally includes a support structure having an inclined surface and a projectile trapping medium disposed on the inclined surface. The projectile trapping medium may be either a resilient granular ballistic medium or a combination of a ballistic medium with a hydrated super absorbent polymer (SAP) gel. Preferably, the support structure is made of a shock absorbing, foamed, fiber-reinforced concrete, such as SACON®. In embodiments, the support structure also includes an enclosure. Additives may also be mixed into the projectile trapping medium to control alkalinity and prevent leaching of heavy metals.

    摘要: A projectile trap is provided having three groups of suspended polyurethane sheets. The polyurethane sheets are processed so as to have high cut and tear resistance properties and low rebound properties. The hardness of the polyurethane sheets increases from the first group of sheets at the front of the bullet trap, which are first contacted by a bullet, to the third group of polyurethane sheets at the rear of the bullet trap. The polyurethane sheets are suspended in the bullet trap by a keying arrangement which ensures that individual polyurethane sheets of a particular group may only be placed at specific locations in the bullet trap.
