    Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for signal identification using a low power watermark. Example apparatus for media identification based on watermarks includes a first processor to determine, in response to receiving a signal, if a first watermark is present in the signal using a first processing technique. The example first processor is further to provoke, in response to the first watermark being present in the signal, a second processing technique on a signal processor. The signal processor is to extract a second watermark in the signal using the second processing technique.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus to determine a state of a media presentation device are disclosed. Example disclosed methods include generating a first set of weighted coefficients based on first audio received by first and second microphones at a first time. Example disclosed methods include generating a second set of weighted coefficients based on second audio received by the first and second microphones at a second time after the first time. Example disclosed methods include comparing the first set of coefficients and the second set of coefficients to generate a similarity value. Example disclosed methods include, when the similarity value satisfies a threshold, determining that the media presentation device is in a first state. Example disclosed methods include, when the similarity value does not satisfy the threshold, determining that the media presentation device is in a second state.

    Abstract: A timbre vector space construction system for building a timbre vector space has an input. The input is configured to receive a first speech segment in a first voice and a second speech segment in a second voice. The system also includes a temporal receptive field to transform the first speech segment into a first plurality of analytical segments, and the second speech segment into a second plurality of analytical segments. Each of the first plurality of smaller analytical segments, and each of the second plurality of analytical segments have a frequency distribution that represents a different portion of the timbre data of the respective voices. The system also includes a machine learning system configured to map the first voice relative to the second voice in the timbre vector space as a function of the frequency distribution of the first plurality of analytical segments the second plurality of analytical segments.

    Abstract: Methods and devices are described for losslessly watermarking an audio signal by performing a noise shaped quantisation and clipping the output from the noise shaped quantisation to bounds computed by a pair of quantised linear functions with gradient 0.5 of the input to the noise shaped quantisation. Corresponding methods and devices are also described for inverting the process to recover an exact replica of the original audio signal.
