Abstract:
A bedding or seating product comprising a spring core including upper and lower border wires. Each of the border wires is generally rectangular in cross-section to reduce wire costs without compromising beam strength of the border wire. Each row of springs of the spring core may be made of a single piece of wire. The rows of springs may be arranged in side-by-side rows and columns and be connected with each other by helical lacing wires.
Abstract:
A system, method and device for capacitive sensing of a guarding application is provided. A capacitive sensing module is coupled to one or more features of a guard system having capacitive guard panels and protective grids. Based on a user contacting at least a portion of the guard system, a determined indication of contact and/or presence may trigger a corresponding response by the guard system via the capacitive sensing module. A baseline level of noise is calibrated over time to adjust for varying conditions that do not correspond to a triggered, user-detection measurement. Corresponding outputs are generated based on a type of detection information received and/or user identity associated with the received capacitance detection. A capacitive sensing module may be configured to receive one or more items of capacitance change data and determine an appropriate triggered response based on an amount of capacitance change and threshold detection duration.
Abstract:
An adjustable bed is provided that has an articulating mattress a number of articulating sections. The bed has an adjustable base with a mechanism to move the articulating mattress into a plurality of positions. The articulating mattress has a number of rigid deck boards. Each articulating section has a corresponding deck board. Adjacent deck boards are hinged together so they can move or rotate with respect to one another. A suspension material, such as pocketed coil springs and/or foam, is disposed above each of said deck boards. A surrounding covering material that encases the deck boards and the suspension material to provide a mattress that can be moved to a number of different positions without any further retaining mechanisms being needed.
Abstract:
A method of user identification in association with an automated furniture item is provided. In embodiments, a user identification method for an automated furniture item utilizes occupancy detection and proximity detection, such as via a BLE PXP. In some embodiments, a system associated with an automated furniture item is provided, which identifies a particular user's smart device (i.e., a device configured to connect to one or more other devices and/or networks, such as a tablet computing device or smartphone) within range of the automated furniture item controller, and generates a corresponding response based on occupancy detection of that particular user. In another embodiment, one or more environment features may be controlled and/or activated, in association with the automated furniture item, based on the coordinated response of both the proximity indication of user identity and the presence detection of a particular user with respect to the automated furniture item.
Abstract:
A bedding product (5) comprises a mattress (10) and padding (20) and an inflatable bladder assembly (30). The bedding product (5) may have a plurality of inflatable members (31, 32) located underneath select portions of the padding (20). The bedding product (5) may have a sensor (41) adapted to detect a sound associated with human snoring and an air supply system (50) operatively coupled to the sensor (41) and adapted to control a supply of air to one of the inflatable members (31, 32).
Abstract:
A power-supply device that is retrofitted to a shelving system and that provides power to the shelving system having a mounting component that receives an article supporting structure comprises, a power-transmitting rail having a power-conducting element encased in a protective cover. The power-transmitting rail is attachable to the shelving system adjacent to the mounting component. The power-receiving component has a power-receiving element adapted to engage the power-conducting element. The power-receiving component is attached to the article-supporting structure, and the article-supporting structure when attached to the shelving system at the mounting component aligns the power-receiving element to contact the power-conducting element.
Abstract:
A system and method for integrating furniture accessories and generic devices with automated furniture items is provided. In embodiments, a communication protocol enables a remote device to wirelessly control a generic device wirelessly coupled to a control component of an automated furniture item. The remote device may control features of the generic device based on wireless communication with the control component. In some embodiments, the remote device receives a user environment selection, which is communicated to the control component of the automated furniture item. The automated furniture item then communicates at least a portion of the received command to a corresponding generic device, according to the settings of the selected user environment. In further embodiments, an occupancy detection indication for the automated furniture item may result in a change in one or more settings corresponding to the user environment, as communicated to the generic device(s) by the control component.
Abstract:
The subject invention relates to a knotter assembly for use in a wire-tieing system. The knotter assembly includes a slidably removable twist module assembly, a ratcheted cover arm assembly, and a torque tube assembly having two operating arms that carry all of the operating components for actuating various elements of the knotter assembly.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for producing consistent spray patterns and for diminishing clogging experienced when applying spray adhesive from a spray gun are provided. One system includes an automatic non-atomizing spray valve operably coupled to a first and second flow valve. The spray and flow valves are electronically controlled using logic running on a processing unit. The logic is programmed to carry out a spray cycle that involves dispensing a first liquid from the spray valve (first phase) and then dispensing a second liquid through the same spray valve (second phase). Because the first liquid (e.g., water-based adhesive) has the potential to clog a nozzle of the spray valve, a short burst of the second liquid (e.g., cleaning fluid) is introduced to prevent the nozzle from clogging. The spray valve is configured as a pulse width modulated spray gun to further reduce clogging and to generate an evenly distributed spray pattern.
