摘要： A separation method comprises introducing a first fluid comprising first and second components having different density into a centrifugal field and allowing an interface to form between at least portions of such components at a first location. The method also comprises moving the interface from the first location to a second location and further comprises introducing the first fluid and removing one of the first and second components at known controlled flow rates so as to move the interface from the second location in a direction toward the first location and to return the interface to the second location. The flow rate of the first or second component may be determined based, at least in part, on the time interval between the interface moving from and returning to the second location. The flow rate may also be based on the weight of the one component removed during the time interval.

摘要： Method and apparatus are disclosed for collecting and separating whole blood into one or more components. A disposable blood separation fluid circuit is provided which is adapted to cooperate with a reusable separation controller. The fluid circuit includes a fluid flow path for communication with a blood source and an initial collection chamber in fluid communication with the fluid flow path. The fluid flow path is connected to a blood source; and a quantity of whole blood is collected from the source in the initial collection container. The source is then disconnected from the disposable fluid circuit. The disposable fluid circuit is mounted in association with the reusable controller and the collected blood is processed through the disposable fluid circuit assembly to separate it into the desired components.

摘要： A portable helipad adapted for use in rough terrain and for transport in a fully assembled state by a helicopter. A deck is supported by legs depending from the deck. Leg braces extending from the legs connect to brackets within an associated zone of attachment on the underside surface of the deck. The helicopter releasably engages the portable helipad for transport. The legs and associated leg braces are preferably extensible to permit the deck to be levelled over uneven terrain.

摘要： An improved electron beam resist structure comprises an organic planarizing layer which has been treated with an ion beam for a time sufficient to render it conductive and an electron beam resist layer thereover. The electron beam resist layer is preferably oxygen plasma resistant. When the resist layer is not resistant to oxygen plasma and it is desired to develop the planarizing layer by oxygen plasma, the structure additionally includes a thin hard mask layer, suitably of silicon dioxide, interposed between the conductive planarizing layer and the resist layer.
