Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for stopping and restarting an MBMS service in a wireless communication system. A terminal receives multicast channel (MCH) scheduling information (MSI) and checks whether a special value is included in the received MSI. If the special value is included in the MSI, then whether to stop or suspend the MBMS service can be determined. That is, MSI can be considered in stopping the MBMS service. Furthermore, stopping is terminating an MBMS service without a consideration for restarting same, and suspending is terminating an MBMS service with a consideration for restarting same.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing contention resolution for contention based physical uplink shared channel (CB-PUSCH) transmission in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) performs a first hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) transmission on a CB-PUSCH to a network, and determines whether contention on the CB-PUSCH is resolved. The CB-PUSCH is a channel for UL data allocated by a pre-configured UL grant which is shared by multiple UEs. If a UL grant includes an identity of the UE, it is determined that contention on the CB-PUSCH is resolved. The UE may perform a second HARQ transmission for the first HARQ transmission on a PUSCH to the network by using the UL grant.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing a sidelink (SL) transmission in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) transmits a contention based scheduling request (CB-SR) to an eNodeB (eNB) by using CB-SR resources to request SL transmission resources, and determines whether a SL grant for the SL transmission resources is received or not. If the UE does not receive the SL grant until a timer expires, the UE may transmit non-contention based SR to the eNB or autonomously select SL resources from resource pool to perform SL transmission.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing traffic steering in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) may be configured with a primary cell (PCell) and at least one secondary cell (SCell) by carrier aggregation. Or, the UE may be configured with a PCell of a master evolved NodeB (MeNB) and a primary SCell (PSCell) of a secondary eNB (SeNB) by dual connectivity. For one embodiment, the UE receives radio access network (RAN) assistance information on the PCell, and evaluates conditions for traffic steering only on the PCell based on the received RAN assistance information. For another embodiment, the UE receives RAN assistance information for each of a plurality of serving cells, and performs traffic steering between one serving cell, among the plurality of serving cells, and a wireless local area network (WLAN).
