It comprises a mechanism for bringing an end face of a boss of at least one gear, not concerning the power transmission, on a shaft and a surface of another member, relatively rotating with respect to the gear, on the shaft into slideable contact with each other under force of a spring. Vibration and noise due to those gear trains not contributing to the power transmission are effectively prevented.

摘要: A front wheel suspension assembly for a motorcycle includes parallel telescoping forks of the hydraulic shock absorber type which straddle the wheel and which are inclined in a forward direction. The bending moment imposed on the telescoping parts by this inclination is partly or fully opposed by a counter bending moment imposed by one or more springs positioned rearward of a vertical plane containing the wheel axis and below a bottom bridge joining the front fork tubes. The purpose is to reduce the frictional resistance between telescoping forks in their axial sliding motion. The springs apply the compensating bending moment between the telescoping parts.

摘要: An improved power steering device which has a pinion shaft connected with a steering wheel, a rack rod which is connected with steerable wheels and whose rack is in mesh with the pinion of the pinion shaft in the gear box, a power cylinder for hydraulically actuating the rack rod, and a changeover valve for selectively connecting the first and second hydraulic chambers of the power cylinder with the hydraulic pressure source and the oil reservoir. The pinion shaft is rotatably supported in the oscillating cage which is rotatably mounted on the gear box in a manner such that the axis of the oscillating cage is offset a certain distance from the axis of the pinion shaft, whereby the oscillating cage rotates about its axis when the steering torque is applied to the pinion shaft. The oscillating cage is connected with the changeover valve so that the latter is actuated by the rotary movement of the oscillating cage. With this construction, the changeover valve can be made to respond accurately to the steering torque and at the same time it is possible to reduce the size and simplify the structure of the device.

摘要: A steering mechanism for vehicle equipped with a power steering system, the steering mechanism including a resilient element, such as a torsion bar, which is interposed in a path of torque transmission between a steering wheel and a power steering unit which provides an increased steering reactive force in proportion to vehicle speed. The steering mechanism includes a damper arrangement disposed between two relatively rotatable members which are operably associated with each other through the resilient element. The damper arrangement attenuates torsional vibrations of a first one of the relatively rotatable members disposed on the side of the steering wheel, such vibrations being caused by the interposed resilient element and the moment of inertia of the steering wheel.

摘要: A power steering apparatus for a vehicle comprising a valve housing provided with a rotary type valve body rotatable in one direction or another by a turning operation of a steering shaft. An oil supply port is connected to an oil pressure pump that is selectively connected to either of one or another of cylinder ports connected to respective left and right chambers of a power cylinder. The valve body is provided with an intermediate partition plate extending into an oil pressure reaction chamber in the valve housing to divide the chamber into areas on opposite sides of the partition plate. The resultant pair of areas extend respectively on either side in the turning direction of the valve body, and the respective areas are connected to one or the other of the cylinder ports.

摘要: A damping force control mechanism in a hydraulic shock absorber having a piston disposed within a cylinder casing so as to define a pair of hydraulic chambers. A plurality of ports are formed through the partition to enable passage of hydraulic fluid between the hydraulic chambers and an orifice plate mounted on the partition enables stepwise rotation relative thereto. Orifice apertures formed through the plate pass one of the ports upon rotation of the orifice plate where the apertures have differential diameters so as to afford differential resistances to hydraulic fluid passing therethrough. At least two of the apertures are upon stepwise rotation of the orifice plate, in fluid communication with one port, and at least one of the apertures in communication with the port are retained in this state upon a further rotation of the orifice plate.
