    Abstract: A motorized vehicle includes a multi-speed transmission having a plurality of forward gears configured to be selectively engaged to drive the motorized vehicle, an internal combustion engine selectively coupled to the transmission, and a reverse drive system selectively coupled to the transmission to provide torque to drive the motorized vehicle in a reverse direction. The reverse drive system includes an electric motor and a reverse drive gear train configured to be selectively coupled to the transmission. The transmission includes a neutral position in which the internal combustion engine is decoupled from the transmission and freely rotatable relative to the transmission. The reverse drive gear train is configured to be operably coupled to the transmission when the transmission is in the neutral position, such that the reverse drive system is operable to drive the motorized vehicle in the reverse direction without interference from the internal combustion engine.

    Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for an dual-faced clutch collar for a transmission. In one example, a dual-faced clutch collar positioned on an output shaft of a gearbox comprises a clutch collar spline, where the clutch collar spline mates with the output shaft; a first face having a first set of axially protruding teeth to engage a high torque coupling, the first set of teeth having a first profile; and a second face having a second set of axially protruding teeth to engage a low torque coupling; the second set of teeth having a second profile; the second profile being different from the first profile. The first profile may be a courser tooth profile, to allow for maximum load carrying capacity, and the second profile may be a finer tooth profile, to allow for quicker gear engagements and more neutral space (e.g., due to reduced tooth depths).

    Abstract: In a vehicle drive transmission device, a transmission includes an intermesh first engagement device, a frictional second engagement device, a first drive device configured to drive the first engagement device, and a second drive device configured to drive the second engagement device. The first drive device includes a first shift drum, a first cam mechanism configured to convert rotational motion of the first shift drum into linear motion, and a first transmission mechanism configured to perform the linear motion. The second drive device includes a second shift drum, a second cam mechanism configured to convert rotational motion of the second shift drum into linear motion, and a second transmission mechanism configured to perform the linear motion. The first shift drum and the second shift drum are connected so as to rotate integrally with each other via a drive shaft. A drum drive source is provided to drive the drive shaft.

    Abstract: A meshing clutch comprises a rotor with a first meshing clutch, a sleeve with a second meshing clutch and a first cam being supported by a clutch hub and urged so as to release meshing, a cam ring configured to convert movement in a rotational direction into movement in an axial direction to lock the meshing according to cooperation of the first and the second cams, and a cam actuator, a sun gear that receives rotation input, an internal gear meshing with the sun gear through a planet pinion, a planet carrier being provided with a drive pinion for output, a fiction clutch mechanism to adjust connection between the internal gear and the planet carrier according to fastening, and a clutch actuator performing fastening control of the friction clutch mechanism.
