Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for receiving media content for display in a shared activity session; receiving additional content corresponding to respective users of one or more other user equipment devices participating in the shared activity session; generating for display, using control circuitry, a display screen including the media content and at least some of the additional content; and, during the shared activity session, automatically adapting the display of the additional content using the control circuitry based on the media content and/or the additional content. For example, images, avatars or video of the users displayed alongside the media content may be adapted using backgrounds or filters reflecting the media content; additional content, such as audio or chat messages, provided by those users; and/or information in their user profiles. The shared activity may be, for example, a group watch session, a videoconference, videocall, audio call, chat session or multi-player game session.

Abstract: Systems and methods for summarizing captions, configuring playback speed, and rewriting the caption file for a media asset are disclosed. The system determines whether to display the original captions or a summarized version of the captions, which are based on user's language proficiency level, reading pace, and historical data, and can be generated either on-demand or automatically when rewinds and pauses are detected. The caption file which includes the original captions can be rewritten. The system determines whether to stream a caption or a rewritten file to a media device based on user or system selections. In the absence of a caption file, or when the caption file cannot be summarized, the playback speed of the media asset is slowed down to provide additional reading time to the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described to dynamically generate metadata for a live media stream. The system determines that a first user on a social media network has started a live media stream. In response, the system identifies a topic of the live media stream based on a frame of the live media stream and identifies another person featured in the frame of the live media stream based on social connections of the first user in the social media network. The system then generates a title for the live media stream based on the identified topic and the identified person, and transmits a notification to a second user that the first user is streaming live, where the notification includes the generated title.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for providing dynamic in-vehicle content. A path of a vehicle is predicted, and an intersection is identified along the predicted path. Abstract: Systems and methods for mapping keys on a remote control device to digital content items are disclosed. An algorithm is trained, based on user's consumption pattern, to determine whether a digital content item would be relevant to the user. If the digital content item matches the consumption pattern, then a key is automatically mapped, and if it does not, then a notification that includes a mapping suggestion is generated and mapped upon approval. A mapping table is updated to store only valid mappings. An input of a key results in quick display of the mapped digital content item from where it was previously exited.
A key can be mapped to a single or multiple digital content items. If similarities are detected between multiple digital content items, then they may both be mapped to the same key.
