Abstract: Provided is a pixel including an organic light emitting diode, a driving circuit, and a light receiving circuit. The driving circuit is configured to supply a driving current corresponding to a data signal supplied through a data line during a scan period to the organic light emitting diode during an emission period, and to supply a first sensing current corresponding to threshold voltage/mobility information of a driving transistor or degradation information of the organic light emitting diode to a feedback line during a current sensing period. The light receiving circuit is configured to supply a second sensing current corresponding to luminance of the organic light emitting diode to the feedback line during the emission period.

Abstract: A vertical alignment liquid crystal display includes two sub-pixels each with a variable capacitor. A pixel is bisected into a high gray sub-pixel and a low gray sub-pixel through forming a variable capacitor at each sub-pixel. With this structure, the sub-pixels express different grays so that lateral visibility is enhanced. It is not required in bisecting a pixel into two sub-pixels to form separate wires for applying different signals thereto, and the amount of data to be processed at the driver for driving the display device is reduced. Furthermore, a pixel is bisected into two sub-pixels with variable capacitors in a simplified manner, and it is not required to form additional wires and elements, so the aperture ratio is enhanced.

Abstract: A display device includes a memory which stores gamma data for gamma curves including a first gamma curve and a second gamma curve; a gray voltage generator which generates gray voltages based on the gamma data; a data driver which receives an input image signal from a signal controller and converts the input image signal into a data voltage using the gray voltages; and a display panel including pixels which receives the data voltage and may display an image, where the pixel displays images corresponding to the input image signal during one frame set, one frame set includes consecutive frames, the images displayed by a pixel includes first and second images displayed based on the first and second gamma curves, respectively, a luminance of the first image is not less than a luminance of the second image, and the second image is displayed in two consecutive frames.
