Abstract: A Neodymium-Iron-Boron permanent magnet which is substantially wider across a first axis than across the perpendicular second axis. The second axis is the axis defining the north and south poles of the magnet. At one of the poles is a permalloy cap which is substantially parallel to the first axis and inhibits the extension of magnetic flux from that pole and encourages instead a deep extension of the magnetic flux from the other pole. An aperture penetrates the magnet through the second axis which is wider at the pole away from the permalloy cap than it is at the pole adjacent to the permalloy cap. The shape of this aperture causes a distortion of the deeply extending magnetic flux lines at the pole away from the permalloy cap to be pinched inward toward the second axis rather than being parallel to it. The magnet thus provides a concentrated magnetic force that extends deeply out of its base so that the magnet can be placed on the exterior of a vessel or conduit with the result that the fluid inside is treated with optimized magnetic force.

Abstract: The present invention is a preventive maintenance system and kit that can prolong the life of the regulators and motors. In performing repairs to automobile power window regulators and motors, it is often the case that the repair is required due to a breakdown of the lubricant. This breakdown can be due to several factors, such as age, temperature, dirt, and salts. The window regulators and motors, without appropriate lubrication, will fail and lead to more costly repairs. A kit has been developed to service the electric windows of an automobile without disassembling the door is presented. The kit provides for access to the door interior and for lubricating the interior parts. The kit and method is designed to lubricate the many window parts in order to extend their life and maintain functionality.

Abstract: One embodiment of a method of the present invention provides for obtaining an image from a requester, obtaining contact information for vouching people, whom requester identifies as having personal knowledge of the requester, and sending an electronic message to the vouching people, with a link to an image lineup. The image lineup contains the image obtained from the requester and other images. Then receiving a selection choice from the vouching people, identifying whether the image in the image lineup depicts the requester, and calculating a statistical rating of a likelihood that the image obtained from the requester depicts him/her.

Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention envisions providing requester with an application for a mobile device equipped with a built-in digital photo camera. The application controls the camera and prevents alterations to an image taken with the camera. The unaltered image of a portrait photograph of the requester is transmitted from the mobile device to the verifier's server computer. The image of the portrait photograph of the requester may further be used to verify the requester by comparing the image to the photographs from other sources.
