Abstract: The present disclosure provides high strength, self-ligating appliances with orthodontically desirable dimensions. The appliances of the present disclosure incorporate a door slidably engaged to a channel in the body; one that can be opened or closed depending on the equilibrium position of an integral protrusion on the door. Cooperating grooves and rails on the body and the door can guide the door between the open and closed positions, and mitigate against unintentional detachment.

Abstract: Dressings, systems, and methods for treating a tissue site on a patient involve allowing liquids from the tissue site or a priming fluid to evaporate and exit the dressing through a liquid-impermeable, vapor-permeable membrane. The dressing is able to process more liquids than would otherwise be possible without evaporation and potentially to create reduced pressure. Other dressings, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: A wound therapy device includes a wound dressing and a humidifier configured to deliver humid air to a wound site to which the wound dressing is applied. The humidifier may be a remote structure that is fluidly connected to the wound dressing applied about a patient's skin at a wound site. Alternatively, the humidified may be integrated with the wound dressing to define an integral, portable therapy device that may be worn by the patient. The wound therapy device may be a standalone wound treatment device, or may be used in conjunction with other wound treatment devices, such as, e.g., negative pressure wound therapy devices.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure and/or instillation fluids to a tissue site. Some embodiments are illustrative of an apparatus or system for delivering negative-pressure and/or therapeutic solution of fluids to a tissue site, which can be used in conjunction with sensing properties of fluids extracted from a tissue site and/or instilled at a tissue site. For example, an apparatus includes a dressing interface or connector that includes a pH sensor, a humidity sensor, a temperature sensor and/or a pressure sensor embodied on a single pad within the connector and proximate the tissue site to provide data indicative of acidity, humidity, temperature and pressure. Such apparatus includes algorithms for processing such data for detecting leakage and blockage as well as providing information relating to the progression of healing of wounds at the tissue site.

Abstract: A wound debridement system includes a wound dressing having an active layer and a wound interface layer. The active layer is formed from one or more transmission layers that are arranged about a central post. Activation of the transmission layers is configured to cause the movement of the wound interface layer relative to a tissue site to which the wound dressing is applied. A drive unit is operably attached to the central post. The drive unit is configured to generate and transfer a vibrational energy and/or a rotational movement to the transmission layer(s) via the central post. The resultant vibration and/or rotation of the transmission layer(s) is imparted onto the wound interface layer, thereby effectuating the desired movement of the wound interface layer relative to the tissue site, which allows for the debridement of debris that may be located at the tissue site.

Abstract: A securement device (100) for securing a lumen (12) of a medical device (14) includes a main body (110) configured to be detachably secured to a skin of a user. The main body includes a first body portion (112) including a first cavity surface (118) and a second body portion (142) including a second cavity surface (148) pivotally coupled to the first cavity surface. The first and second cavity surfaces together define a cavity (170). The securement device further includes an insert (180) fixedly coupled to the main body and at least partially received within the cavity. The insert includes a groove (184) configured to receive the lumen of the medical device. The main body is deformable between an open configuration and a closed configuration, and the insert is correspondingly deformable between a release state and a secure state. In the release state, the groove is configured to receive the lumen therein. In the secure state, the lumen is secured within the groove.
