摘要: A respiratory treatment device having an inlet configured to receive exhaled air into the device, an outlet configured to permit exhaled air to exit the device, a valve moveable in response to a threshold exhalation pressure at the inlet between a closed position where the flow of air from the inlet to the outlet is restricted, and an open exhalation position where the flow of air from the inlet to the outlet is less restricted, and a valve brace configured to support the valve, wherein a position of the valve brace relative to the valve is selectively adjustable to increase or decrease the threshold exhalation pressure.

摘要: Disclosed are systems and processes related to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). One embodiment of the system comprises an inspiration chamber and an expiration chamber, which work cooperatively to provide gas (e.g., Oxygen (O2)) to a subject (e.g., human patient) during inspiration and extract and expel expired gas (e.g., Carbon Dioxide (CO2)) from the subject during expiration as a medical professional applies CPR to the subject. In other words, this disclosure provides systems and processes that allow for substantially synchronous chest compressions with positive pressure active inspirations and, also, substantially synchronous chest decompressions with negative pressure active expirations.

摘要: Refreshing stylets, catheter systems, and methods thereof. The refreshing stylet can be configured to fit within a lumen of a catheter such as hemodialysis catheter. The refreshing stylet can include an elongated hollow body having a proximal portion coupled to a needleless connector, a distal portion ending in a distal tip, an interior surface, an exterior surface, and a side hole. The exterior surface can be coated with a sustained-release formulation including one or more anti-thrombotic agents. The sustained-release formulation can be configured to contact a luminal surface of the catheter and prevent thrombus formation thereon. The side hole can be configured to provide a locking solution to the lumen of the catheter for locking the catheter between uses.

摘要: Systems and methods of delivering a therapeutic session to affect a mental or an emotional state of a user include providing a wearable stimulation device having a transducer adapted to generate tactile transcutaneous vibratory output; with a user interface, obtaining data regarding an event to be experienced by the user; communicating the data regarding an event to be experienced by the user to a computer processor; with the computer processor, creating a therapeutic session parameters comprising the following steps: assigning a set of contiguous output segments for the event, and based on the event, assigning a perceived pitch of transcutaneous vibratory output and a perceived beat of transcutaneous vibratory output to each output segment; sending, from the computer processor, the therapeutic session parameters to the transducer; and generating, with the transducer, transcutaneous vibratory output for the therapeutic session based on the therapeutic session parameters.

摘要: A blood based solute monitoring system for measuring at least one blood solute species that has a first recirculation flow path in communication with a dialyzer. The first recirculation flow path is configured to allow a fluid to recirculate through a dialyzer such that the concentration of at least one solute species in the fluid becomes equilibrated to the solute species concentration of the blood compartment of the dialyzer. The blood solute monitoring system has at least one sensor to measure a fluid characteristic.

摘要: An apparatus may be configured for providing feedback to caregivers during a code blue scenario when adhered to the chest of a subject undergoing resuscitation by sensing and transmitting information associated with the code blue scenario. Such information may include one or more of vital signs of the subject during resuscitation, information associated with chest movements of the subject during resuscitation, and audio information from an environment of the subject during resuscitation. One or more processors may generate real-time feedback for communication to the caregivers during the code blue scenario based on the sensed and transmitted information.
