Abstract:
Methods and systems for processing inbound fax messages in an efficient and scalable manner are provided. According to one embodiment, an inbound fax call is received at a telecommunications system of an Internet fax system. The inbound fax call includes a source and destination address and a fax signal. The inbound fax call is switched to a call mediation system, which determines desired technical call processing capabilities for processing the fax signal. A subset of fax processing resources that have the desired technical call processing capabilities are identified from among multiple fax processing resources associated with the call mediation system. The inbound fax call is switched to a selected fax processing resource of the identified subset. The fax signal is translated by the selected fax processing resource into a digital representation. And, the digital representation is made available to one or more users associated with the particular subscriber.
Abstract:
A document transmission apparatus reduces troublesome labor of an operator when transmitting document data, inputted from a scanner or the like, by various transmission methods such as electronic mail, facsimile, remote printing and file transfer. An address book containing a receiver and a plurality of transmission methods for transmitting document data to the receiver is generated. Upon transmission instruction, an appropriate transmission method is selected by the receiver, then document data is converted into data of an appropriate data format, and the converted data is transmitted. Further, a notice of transmission indicating that the document data has been transmitted is transmitted to the receiver of the document data by a method different from the transmission method of the document data. Thus, the document data can be reliably delivered to the receiver.
Abstract:
This invention provides an image processing system and image processing method, which can acquire a document such as a paper document or the like as data of a format that allows easy re-use and re-edit processes. Image information is acquired by scanning a document, and its features are recognized. The image information is converted into character codes, vector data, or a predetermined image format in accordance with the recognized features. In this case, parameters used upon recognizing the features of the image information are variably set, and the operations of the character process, vectorization, and image conversion are controlled in accordance with the set parameters.
Abstract:
Devices, systems and methods are disclosed which relate to incorporating a fax machine function into a mobile device. A camera on the mobile device is used to scan or capture an image of an existing document. Logic on the mobile device converts the image into a fax transmittal that can be transmitted to a fax machine. Once the fax transmittal is ready, a connection is initiated with a traditional fax machine across one or more networks, and the fax transmittal is sent to the fax machine at a speed determined by the slower device. Upon a successful transmission, the connection is terminated, and a report is generated.
Abstract:
A printing control system includes a transmission part configured to transmit data from an information terminal to an image processor; an analysis part configured to analyze the data received from the information terminal; a format determining part configured to determine the data format of the received data based on the analysis result of the analysis part; a conversion requesting part configured to, in response to the format determining part determining that the data format of the received data is convertible into print data printable in the image processor, transmit the received data to a data converter and request the data converter to convert the received data into the print data; and a printing control part configured to print the print data returned from the data converter in response to the request of the conversion requesting part.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus includes a generator, a storage, an image data format converter, and a sender. The generator generates print image data for printing an image, based on image data sent from an external device. The storage stores the print image data. The image data format converter converts the print image data into image data in a format handled by an external device. The sender sends the converted image data via an IP (internet protocol) network to the external device. The image data format converter performs one of color space conversion, expansion, compression, resolution conversion, filtering, halftone processing, density gamma conversion, and noise removal in accordance with parameters determined based on at least one of property information of the print image data and property information requested by the external device.
Abstract:
An image transfer device, as well as a method and computer program product, obtains an image file that includes first image data and identification information for identifying an image generation device used to generate the first image data, and obtains the identification information from the obtained image file. The image transfer device determines a display resolution of a monitor included in the image generation device, according to the obtained identification information, converts the first image data to second image data having a resolution consistent with the determined display resolution, and records the second image data into a storage device. The image transfer device transfers the obtained image file to a first device connected to the network.
Abstract:
A terminal device usable in connection with an external display device is disclosed, which receives a plurality of sub-image data sets into which an original image data set has been divided, with each sub-image data set having a size within a display area size of the terminal device; converts an image format of the plurality of sub-image data sets into the same image-format as an image format of the external display device, on a per-sub-image-data-set basis; regenerates the original image data set from the plurality of format-converted sub-image data sets, such that the original image data set is formed in its entirety or in plural data blocks; and outputs the regenerated original-image-data-set to the external display device.
Abstract:
An image processing system comprising an image forming apparatus and first and second image processing servers connected to the image forming apparatus via a network, the first image processing server comprising: a first image processor which performs a first image processing operation on target image data received from the image forming apparatus; and a protected area calculator which calculates a protected area to be prohibited from being processed next, which is related to the area processed by the first image processor, and generates image protection information including information of the protected area, and the second image processing server comprising a second image processor which performs a second image processing operation on the areas excluding the protected area whose information is included in the image protection information generated by the protected area calculator.
Abstract:
An image reading system includes an information processing apparatus and a scanner connected to the information processing apparatus via a network. Upon receiving input of information that specifies the number of pages to be included in a file through an input unit and a web browser, the information processing apparatus transmits the information through a first communication unit to the scanner. The scanner reads image data through a reading unit, and divides the image data into files based on the information through a data management unit. The scanner transmits the files to the information processing apparatus through a second communication unit. The information processing apparatus displays images of the files on a monitor.
