摘要： Disclosed is apparatus for enhancing the surface cleaning of a swimming pool having a skimmer inlet in a wall of the pool and the pool having peripheral water movement generally along the wall. A first rigid plate, having an upper and lower edge and inner and outer ends is supported by a support generally vertically adjacent the skimmer inlet such that an upper edge of the first plate is above water level, the inner end of the first plate extends generally vertically downward intermediate the sides of the skimmer inlet and the plate extends inwardly at an angle with the pool wall in a direction opposite the direction of water movement. The lower edge of at least the inner end of the first plate is substantially adjacent the bottom edge of the skimmer inlet. A second plate extends outwardly from the first plate at an angle thereto such that when the apparatus is in operative association with the skimmer inlet, the second plate slants in the direction of water flow, has its lower edge below water level and its outer end downstream of the outer end of the first plate. Debris on the surface of the water or close to it is directed by the first plate to the skimmer inlet. The two plates also cause eddy currents behind the first plate, which current further directs water carrying debris toward the wall of the pool and to the downstream path of the skimmer inlet. With the end of the first plate intermediate the sides of the skimmer inlet, water can still enter the skimmer from behind the first plate as well as in front of it. The speed with which the surface of a pool is cleaned is significantly enhanced.

摘要： A concrete form and a pool wall and deck support system is disclosed. The pool wall may be formed of steel, plastic, aluminum or wood and has a plurality of wall panels secured together in end-to-end relation to define the perimeter of the structure. Wall supports or brace structures fabricated from non-compressible material such as concrete are attached to, and support both the wall of the pool and the perimeter deck therearound. The pool wall, coping and deck are supported by the top of the concrete brace structure. In a preferred embodiment, the brace structure is fabricated from pairs of nestable forms made from a suitable material such as corrugated cardboard and are located beside the pool walls, reinforcing bars are attached to the pool walls and interconnect the latter with the walls and the forms are filled with concrete and are so structured as to have the concrete engage the flanges of the pool wall panels.

摘要： A structure having a movable dome-type roof including a plurality of independently movable shell sections which nest one beneath the other. A frame superstructure is arched over the dome to support the upper ends of the shell sections. The lower edges of the shell sections are mounted on self-powered carriages and are independently shiftable about a circular base of the structure. By selectively shifting individual shell sections, the dome may be contracted or expanded as desired. The superstructure may be mounted on a circular track or on a pair of linear tracks to expedite the opening and closing of the dome.

摘要： An automatic swimming pool cleaning apparatus has a surface supply hose connected to a floating unit and a further underwater hose that is connected at one end to the surface unit in fluid communication with the outlet of the surface hose and at its other outlet end to a non-buoyant cleaning unit. The underwater hose and the cleaning unit have jets directed in a downstream direction so that the cleaning unit moves through water in the pool and the underwater hose pushes the surface unit around. The cleaning unit carries a bag in which debris is collected. The surface hose also carries a jet to pull the surface unit around. The surface unit also has a jet which displaces and rotates the surface unit. The surface unit has a flotation member that is rotatable about a vertical axis. A first connector is rotatably mounted below the flotation member and a second connector is rotatably connected to the first connector. The first connector has a transverse inlet connected to the outlet of the surface hose and an axial outlet which communicates with an opposed axial inlet of the second connector. The second connector has a transverse outlet connected to the inlet of the underwater hose. A strap limits relative rotation of the first and second connectors. The flotation member also carries a rotatable spinner that is unbalanced to cause the flotation member to wobble.

摘要： An interdome enclosure system takes advantage of the latent heat of condensation for energy efficiency. The system includes, in combination with a humid environment, such as a heated pool and an outer enclosure housing the pool, an inner enclosure disposed within the outer enclosure and over the pool and a differntial fan operated heat exchanger for creating an atmospheric pressure within the space between the inner and outer enclosures which is positive relative to the atmospheric pressure within the inner enclosure. The heat exchanger includes a pair of conduits disposed in heat exchange relationship to one another. Assisted by an inlet fan, one conduit communicates dry, fresh cool air from the exterior of the outer enclosure into the space between the enclosures, while the other conduit, assisted by an exhaust fan, communicates moisture-laden, warm air from the inner enclosure directly to the exterior of the outer enclosure.
