摘要: A humidity control system having an outside temperature humidity compensator circuit responsively coupled to an outside temperature sensing circuit and capable of responding to sensed inside humidity levels to provide control signals to a humidity controller to automatically adjust the target in-room humidity produced by a controller as a function of sensed changes in outside temperature is described. The compensator circuit provides two variables to allow control of both the level of humidity at a specified temperature and the rate of humidity change with changes in outside temperature, and provides a means to limit the highest humidity level that is independent of the controlling variables. Switching is shown to allow the compensator circuit to be switched out of operation and to allow it to be momentarily bypassed.

摘要: An interdome enclosure system takes advantage of the latent heat of condensation for energy efficiency. The system includes, in combination with a humid environment, such as a heated pool and an outer enclosure housing the pool, an inner enclosure disposed within the outer enclosure and over the pool and a differntial fan operated heat exchanger for creating an atmospheric pressure within the space between the inner and outer enclosures which is positive relative to the atmospheric pressure within the inner enclosure. The heat exchanger includes a pair of conduits disposed in heat exchange relationship to one another. Assisted by an inlet fan, one conduit communicates dry, fresh cool air from the exterior of the outer enclosure into the space between the enclosures, while the other conduit, assisted by an exhaust fan, communicates moisture-laden, warm air from the inner enclosure directly to the exterior of the outer enclosure.

摘要: An environmental control system for controlling the environmental conditions in a swimming pool hall 1 comprises a heat pump having a multi-section evaporator 8, compressors 23a and 23b and a multi-section condensor 18.In the day-time, the dry bulb temperature in the pool hall is maintained by circulating space air through a duct 3 to the evaporator 8 where the latent heat is recovered from the moisture laden air. This heat is rejected via the condensor 18 either to the now drier recirculated air or fresh air from an inlet 13 or a mixture of air from the two sources. In a night mode of operation, circulation of space air through the duct 3 is prevented and instead it is recirculated via a direct recirculation duct 53 and is heated by the condensor 18, the heat used to do this being recovered from outside air inducted into the evaporator 8 via an inlet 50. In order to prevent frosting of the evaporator when the outside air temperature is too low, a damper 52 may be opened to allow some space air to pass through the evaporator 8 and raise its temperature. In order to increase the heat recovery capability of the compressor, storage tank 56 is used to collect waste water from showers etc. and also from backwash through the pool water filter and when this tank is full, its water is chilled by means of a water chiller 15 in parallel with the evaporator and the heat so recovered is rejected to the re-circulating space air by means of the condensor 18.

摘要: A control system is provided which automatically varies the degree of ventilation of an indoor swimming pool in response to variations in the outside temperature and comprises separate speed-regulating means for each of the fan-driving motors, each speed-regulating means being operated in response to signals received from a master controller connected to the output of an external temperature sensor. The control system also incorporates means for automatically lowering the level of the temperature to be maintained when the swimming pool is unoccupied, in inverse proportion to the difference between the outside and inside temperatures, this lowering being effected in small increments at relatively long intervals of time.

摘要: An enclosure temperature control system utilizes a renewable power source and a thermal sink to reduce the overall power requirements from a power grid. A renewable power source, such as a solar panel may provide power that drives the components required to maintain the greenhouse temperature within upper and lower limits, including a HVAC system and/or a heat transfer system coupled with a thermal sink. The thermal sink includes a phase change material that releases heat when it solidifies and this heat can be used to heat the greenhouse. Likewise, the phase change material absorbs heat during the day to reduce the temperature within the greenhouse. A heat transfer system may be coupled with the phase change material and a solid conductor component within the tank of a phase change material may increase thermal transfer rate.

摘要: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for efficiently using various components as a system for cooling air. The apparatus uses the combination of an evaporative cooler, a refrigerated air system with a water-cooled condenser, a swimming pool pump, and a swimming pool or other bulk water storage container. A pump or series of pumps are used to supply water to the evaporative cooler and to the water-cooled condenser from the swimming pool. After the swimming pool water has been supplied to the other components in the system, it is returned to the swimming pool. During cooler weather, the output air from the evaporative cooler is supplied to a series of ducts and is used to cool the interior of a structure such as a home. When the outside ambient temperature and/or humidity levels exceeds the capabilities of the evaporative cooler for cooling the interior of the structure to the desired temperature, the output air from the evaporative cooler is re-directed to the attic space of the structure and the refrigerated air from the refrigerated air system is used to cool the interior of the structure. By using the output air from the evaporative cooler to cool the attic space, the overall cooling load on the refrigerated air system is reduced. In addition, the use of the water from the swimming pool to condense the refrigerant vapors will enable the system to achieve even greater efficiency and will provide an added benefit of lowering the temperature of the water stored in the swimming pool.
