摘要: A moving picture encoding system includes an encoding control unit for setting a target quantiser step size used to encode each of different types of pictures included in a unit group to be encoded, and for performing a control operation to generate and furnish a quantiser step size to an encoding unit so that a ratio among the target quantiser step sizes set for the different types of pictures is a predetermined one. The encoding control unit initially sets the quantiser step size for a macroblock to be encoded first in the current picture currently being encoded to the target quantiser step size set for the picture type of that picture, and, each time the encoding unit encodes each of macroblocks remaining in the current picture, then updates the quantiser step size initially set for the first macroblock so that the average of the quantiser step sizes used during the encoding of all macroblocks in the current picture finally approaches the target quantiser step size set for the picture type of the current picture. Thus the system is able to control the amount of codes generated during the encoding of each of the plurality of pictures in the unit group while keeping the relative picture quality among the plurality of pictures adjacent with respect to time.

摘要: A fabric material has a base fabric, a pile layer on a surface of the base fabric, and an adhesive layer of a hot-melt adhesive on another surface of the base fabric. The adhesive layer contains a wax whose melting point Tm1 is from 20° C. to 50° C. lower than the melting point Tm2 of the base polymer. The fabric material is heated by a heating device to at least (Tm1+5)° C. and (Tm2−5)° C., and then cut by a ultrasonic wave cutter 23. Thus the fabric material can be cut without generating the chaffs of the adhesive agent and the fiber offscums. As a result, the pollution is not made in the cutting process, and the cutting of the fabric material is made continuously and stably. Without the adhesion of the chaffs, the teremp which has a good surface formed by the cutting.

摘要: Finish of a composite image generated from an image and characters can be confirmed by enlarging the characters alone and without enlarging a copyrighted image such as a cartoon character. In order to generate the composite image, the characters are input from a user terminal according to a template. In a printing service apparatus, image data of the composite image are generated and sent to the user terminal. By an instruction from the user terminal, enlargement data are generated for enlarging the characters alone and sent to the user terminal.

摘要: An optical sensor device has an illuminating light source and an image sensor. The image sensor captures a sequence of images under exposure of light from the light source. A controller in the optical sensor device has a control output and generates an exposure time control signal on the control output. The controller includes an exposure time control loop. Each iteration of the loop includes the steps: calculating an error between a set value and an actual luminance condition value determined in a current image in the sequence of images; calculating a current exposure time as a function of the error and an exposure time calculated during the preceding iteration of the control loop; and generating the exposure time control signal on the control output based on the current exposure time. The exposure time may thereby be determined so as to yield optimum contrast in an image which is to be captured by the image sensor.

摘要: A ball motion measuring apparatus comprises a tee 3 for mounting a golf ball 1 thereon, a first camera 5, a second camera 7, a pair of first stroboscopes 9, a pair of second stroboscopes 11, a pair of optical sensors 13, a CPU 15 to be a calculating section, and a monitor 17 to be a display section. The first camera 5 and the second camera 7 are CCD cameras having a shutter function. Photographing is carried out by means of the first camera 5 after a predetermined time passes since the golf ball 1 is hit, and the photographing is carried out by means of the second camera 7 after a predetermined time further passes. A magnified image is formed by original image data thus obtained and a read value obtained by pointing the magnified image is subjected to distortion correction or oblique correction so that correction data are obtained. Based on the correction data, a flight speed, a spin rate or a launch angle of the golf ball 1 is calculated.
