Abstract: A battery voltage equalization device 1 includes: a transformer T including a primary winding T1 into which the output voltage of a battery pack BP is inputted and a plurality of secondary windings T2 corresponding to each of batteries B; a conversion circuit 2 that converts an AC voltage outputted by the secondary windings T2 to a DC voltage; a cutoff circuit 3 provided to cut off a conductive pathway from the conversion circuit 2 to the batteries B; and a control unit 5 that controls the energization of the primary winding T1, wherein the cutoff circuit 3 includes a first switch SW1 and the second switch SW2 which are provided in series on the conductive pathway and which are opened or closed by the control unit, a first body diode Db1 and a second body diode Db2 of which the same terminals are connected to each other and which are respectively connected in parallel with the switches, and a surge suppression resistor Rss connected in parallel with the first body diode Db 1 or the second body diode Db2 for which the direction of charging current to the batteries B is the forward direction.

Abstract: An air electrode catalyst for an air secondary battery includes a pyrochlore-type composite oxide having two or more crystal structures having a different amount of oxygen. A battery, according to some embodiments, includes an electrode group including an air electrode and a negative electrode stacked with a separator therebetween, and a container accommodating the electrode group along with an alkali electrolyte solution, wherein the air electrode includes the air electrode catalyst. The air electrode catalyst may have a pyrochlore-type composite oxide having a crystal structure represented by Bi2Ru2O6.92 and a crystal structure represented by Bi2Ru2O7.33.

Abstract: A battery polarity determination circuit includes a battery accommodating unit including a first contact and a second contact to be in contact with respective electrode terminals of a battery, a control device that is connected via a resistor to a voltage lead-out point at which a voltage of the battery is led out and determines a polarity of the battery, a connection switching circuit capable of switching between a first connection state and a second connection state, and a diode having a cathode to be connected to a voltage read-in point at which the resistor and the control device are connected to each other, and an anode to be grounded, wherein the control device determines the polarity of the battery based on a voltage at the voltage read-in point according to the connection state of the connection switching circuit, and a forward voltage of the diode is set so that the voltage at the voltage read-in point is not less than a lower limit value of an absolute maximum rating of the control device.

Abstract: An alkaline storage battery includes a spiral electrode group in which a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, and a separator arranged between the positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate are laminated, the negative electrode plate is located on the inner peripheral side of the positive electrode plate at an innermost peripheral portion, and an electrically conductive outer packaging can in which the spiral electrode group is accommodated together with an alkaline electrolytic solution. The negative electrode core body has a burr protruding toward the outer peripheral side at an edge portion of an innermost peripheral portion of the negative electrode core body. The thickness of the edge portion of an innermost peripheral portion of the first negative electrode mixture layer is smaller than the thickness of a portion other than the edge portion of the first negative electrode mixture layer. The height of the burr is 30% or less of the thickness of the separator.

Abstract: A battery comprises an electrode group including a separator, a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The negative electrode comprises a negative electrode core, negative electrode mixture layers retained to the negative electrode core, and a fluorine resin layer disposed on the surface of the negative electrode mixture layers. The negative electrode mixture layers include a first outermost peripheral region located at the outermost periphery of the electrode group and a second outermost peripheral region located opposite to the first outermost peripheral region. When the amount of the fluorine resin constituting a first fluorine resin layer in a portion of the first outermost peripheral region is represented by A, and the amount of the fluorine resin constituting a second fluorine resin layer in a portion of the second outermost peripheral region is represented by B, a relation A>B is satisfied.
