Abstract: The present invention concerns a method, a system, a device of authenticating a user using a body part including biometric information. The method comprises stitching partial enrolment images comprising different views of the user's body part into at least one mosaic and thereby creating an enrolled image, acquiring an authentication image of the body part, wherein the size of the authentication image is a fraction of the enrolled image, determining at least one area of interest in the enrolled image, and matching the authentication image with image data of the determined area of interest in the enrolled image.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of determining a representation of a fingerprint pattern. The method comprises the steps of acquiring a reference signal indicative of an electric coupling between a hand surface having friction ridges and a reference sensing structure extending across a plurality of the friction ridges; and determining the representation of the fingerprint pattern based on the reference signal and a capacitive coupling between the finger and each of a plurality of sensing elements. The acquired reference signal can, for example, be used for controlling the sensing elements so that the sensing performed by the sensing elements is carried out using favorable timing, when the signal quality is good. The module further comprises a substrate comprising an electrically conductive trace and an electric component arranged on the substrate and in electrical contact with the conductive trace. The substrate is electrically and mechanically connected to the edge trench such that an electrical connection is formed between the sensor device and the electrical component of the substrate via the conductive trace. There is also provided a method for manufacturing the described module.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of reconstructing a fingerprint image from a plurality of fingerprint subimages captured by an optical microlens array fingerprint sensor, and a sensor system performing the method. In an aspect, a method of reconstructing a fingerprint image from a plurality of fingerprint subimages captured by an optical microlens array fingerprint sensor arranged under a touch-display of a device is provided. The method comprises capturing an image of a fingerprint with the fingerprint sensor, extracting, from the captured fingerprint image, a fingerprint subimage for each microlens in the array, normalizing the corrected fingerprint subimages with corresponding subimages of a uniformity calibration image with known uniformity properties, rotating the normalized fingerprint subimages 180 degrees while maintaining their relative position with respect to the captured fingerprint image from which the fingerprint subimages are extracted, and combining the rotated and normalized fingerprint subimages into a fingerprint image.
