Abstract:
An apparatus and method for saving power in an office machine having a display panel are provided. The method comprises setting the apparatus in an operation standby mode, detecting whether an error exists in the apparatus and turning on the display panel to display the error thereon when the error is detected. Furthermore, the apparatus keeps the display panel in an off state when the error is not detected. Thus, the exemplary embodiments of the present invention provide a power saving method of an office machine which prevents unnecessary power consumption during an operation of an office machine having a display panel.

A hydrogen ionic conductive inorganic material having a layered structure, wherein a moiety containing a functional group with hydrogen ionic conductivity is introduced between layers of an inorganic material having a nano-sized interlayer distance. A polymer nanocomposite membrane including a reaction product of the hydrogen ionic conductive inorganic material and a conductive polymer, and a fuel cell using the same, are also provided. In the polymer nanocomposite membrane, a conductive polymer may be intercalated to a hydrogen ionic conductive inorganic material having a layered structure or products exfoliated from an inorganic material having a layered structure are dispersed in a conductive polymer.

A method of managing a manufacturing process of a hard disk drive having a disk as a recording medium. The disk is divided into a data band for writing user data and a plurality of protection bands. In the method, a serial number of the hard disk drive is read, the serial number is written in at least one of the bands during servo track writing, and the written serial number is read for use in the manufacturing process.

A hybrid hard disk drive includes a hard disk drive controller to receive a plurality of write commands from a host, a buffer to receive and store write data, which are input through the hard disk drive controller and correspond to each of the plurality of write commands, a command history tracker to receive the plurality of write commands and analyze a pattern of the plurality of write commands, and a CPU to control storage of the write data, which correspond to each of the plurality of write commands, on a disk or in a flash memory device based on the analysis result by the command history tracker. The drive may determine whether to store write data on the disk or in the flash memory device without operation system support.
