Abstract:
Asymmetrical imide bleach activators for use in both solid and liquid additive, bleaching and detergent compositions are provided. The compounds have general formula (I) wherein R1 is a moiety selected from a specific group, R2 is a C1-C8 linear or branched chain saturated or unsaturated alkyl group and R3 is a C1-C4 linear or branched chain saturated or unsaturated alkyl group. Preferred compounds include the compounds when R2 and R3 are CH3. Bleach additive and bleaching compositions including the asymmetrical bleach activators and methods of cleaning fabrics are also provided.
Abstract:
An isolation circuit (10) and method for providing dc isolation between two integrated circuit devices (11) and (12) that may be referenced to different ground potentials is presented. The isolation circuit (10) includes, in each circuit, an output buffer (20, 20′) connected to deliver a signal to an input/output pin (16, 17) of the circuit (11, 12) with which the output buffer is associated. A capacitance (30), which may be a single capacitor or a combination of capacitors, is connected to the pins (16, 17) of each of the circuits (11, 12), and in each circuit (11, 12), an input buffer (22, 22′) is connected to receive a signal delivered onto the I/O pin (16, 17). The input buffer (22, 22′) includes a circuit for resisting a charge leakage from the capacitor, which, preferably is a bus holder circuit (36), or the like. In another embodiment, a transformer (85) is used to provide dc isolation between the two integrated circuits (62, 64).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel gene termed ART which is expressed primarily in selected regions of the brain, as well as adrenal and lung tissues. Polypeptides encoded by ART are also disclosed, as are methods for preparing ART DNA and amino acid sequences.
Abstract:
A communications adapter card provides an interface for a TI or E1 transmission line and a signal processing circuit which can be programmed to process receive and transmit data in either an ISDN or an ATM format. Preferably, two such interfaces and two such signal processing circuits are provided on the card, so that a single adapter card can be used for attachment to both an ISDN network and to an ATM network. Each signal processing circuit includes a pair of DSPs, each of which has a two port buffer extending to a parallel bus. All such DSPs are connected to a data bus. The DSPs in each signal processing circuit execute programs to operate in either an ATM mode or an ISDN mode.

An isolation circuit (10) and method for providing dc isolation between two integrated circuit devices (11) and (12) that may be referenced to different ground potentials is presented. Abstract:
An apparatus designed to damp external noises, allowing the user to sleep in noisy environments. More particularly, it relates to a pair of hearing-protecting ear covers that insulate the user's ears from external noises, ear covers that incorporate a headphone stereo for transmission of a time, smoke, fire and/or security alarms. The headphone stereo can also transmit music, peaceful sounds, or noise reducing frequencies. The sound producing circuitry is connect in parallel to the alarm system to allow alarm detection even when the user is listening to music or other sounds.
