Abstract:
A storage system maintains copies of a source database to allow virtual databases to be provisioned. Transaction logs received from the source database are applied to database blocks stored in the storage system to update the database blocks. The storage system checks if there are defect in the transaction logs of the source database. If a defect in transaction logs is detected, the storage system obtains a latest copy of the source database. The storage system matches database blocks of the received copy with database blocks already available in the storage system to determine whether a corresponding database block is already available in the storage system. If a received database block is different from database blocks already available at the storage system, the received database block is stored in the storage system. The database blocks may be matched using a hash value of the database blocks.

Abstract:
In computing scenarios involving an aggregation of multiple computational units into a server or computer set, many architectures may be devised to provide physical storage and logical aggregation of the computational units. Presented herein are variations of one such architecture, comprising a chassis having a set of slots, into which may be inserted a tray storing the computational units of one or more blades. Respective trays and chassis slots comprise a power connector and a network connector that are positioned to connect directly (i.e., without a cable or manual interaction) when a tray is inserted into a slot. The chassis stores a set of power supplies, and may connect each blade with a power supply, optionally providing power routing and failover capabilities. The chassis may also provide a management component that connects to and provides management capabilities of the blades of the trays, power supplies, and climate regulating components.
Abstract:
A distributed hardware system for unmanned vehicles is provided, comprising a plurality of electronic hardware modules in communication via a vehicle control network. Each module is enabled to: communicate with one another, issue requests for information from a central control module, and transmit data over the network in a common format to perform respective tasks; and at least one of: independently sense one or more of: a respective status of the distributed hardware system and at least one respective environmental parameter; and independently control the respective function of a vehicle. A portion of the modules can enabled to: be removed and inserted from the distributed hardware system as plug and play modules; and determine when at least one of the modules is removed/inserted from the distributed hardware system and transition to a corresponding state. The system also includes a power management system which includes capacity monitoring and hot-swap capabilities.
Abstract:
A phase-locked loop circuitry includes an oscillator circuitry having an input and an output. A phase detector circuit is connected to the output of the oscillator circuitry and has outputs thereof. A digital loop filter circuit is connected to the outputs of the phase detector circuitry and has outputs thereof. The outputs of the digital loop filter circuit are coupled, through a summing circuit, to the input of the oscillator circuitry. Values associated with the outputs of the digital loop filter circuit are updated concurrently based upon values associated with the outputs of the phase detector circuitry. One output of the digital loop filter circuitry has a high-pass transfer function.
Abstract:
An engine and related control system determine an amount of fuel diluting the engine oil in the oil pan. Such information can be used to recommend an oil change and to estimate a fraction of biodiesel in the fuel supplied to the engine. According to one embodiment, actual oil volume in the oil pan is based on a signal from a level sensor in the oil and a theoretical oil volume is determined based on initial oil volume and fuel entering the oil in the oil pan, fuel leaving the oil pan due to evaporation, and oil being consumed in the combustion chamber. Based on the difference between the actual and theoretical oil volumes, a proportion of heavy fuel components or biodiesel can be determined and transmitted to an engine control system.
Abstract:
A fluid management tool for introducing fluids into a casing string incorporates a mud saver valve configured to open and allow fluid flow in response to fluid flow pressure reaching a predetermined opening pressure, and will automatically close when fluid flow pressure is reduced to or below a predetermined closure pressure, thereby preventing fluid spillage when the tool is withdrawn from the casing. The mud saver valve includes a mud saver spool having a slotted spool cage and being axially movable within a longitudinal bore in the main body of the tool, between an upper or open position in which fluid can flow out of the spool cage and into a discharge bore at the lower end of the main body, and a lower or closed position in which the lower end is seated against the exit bore to prevent flow therethrough. A check valve may be incorporated into the lower end of the mud saver spool. The fluid management tool also may incorporate a main seal and air bleed valve subassembly and a secondary suction seal and check valve subassembly.
