In addition, the UE does not initiate the procedure of small data transmission if a radio condition of the UE is below the threshold.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed. In an example from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE), the UE keeps a dedicated Preconfigured Uplink Resources (PUR) configuration when the UE is in Radio Resource Control (RRC) idle state and a serving cell of the UE is a second cell, wherein the UE is configured with the dedicated PUR configuration in a first cell different than the second cell. The UE selects a third cell during a RRC connection re-establishment procedure. In response to the selecting the third cell, the UE determines whether or not to release the dedicated PUR configuration based upon whether or not the third cell is the same as the first cell, wherein the determining whether or not to release the dedicated PUR configuration is performed when the UE is in RRC connected state.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a User Equipment (UE). In one embodiment, the method includes receiving, from a network node, a configuration of Preconfigured Uplink Resources (PUR), when the UE is in RRC_CONNECTED state, wherein the PUR is used for a transmission when the UE is in RRC_IDLE state. The method also includes determining to generate a first Radio Resource Control (RRC) message or a second RRC message for the transmission based on whether the transmission is to be transmitted using the PUR or not, wherein the first RRC message includes a UE identity and the second RRC message does not include the UE identity. The method further includes performing the transmission including the first RRC message or the second RRC message when the UE is in RRC_IDLE state.

Abstract: In one example, user equipment (UE) maintains one or multiple serving beams, and uses a serving beam to perform an uplink (UL) transmission of data. The data is stored in an uplink hybrid automatic repeat request (UL HARQ) buffer. When there is a failure to track the one or multiple serving beams, a beam recovery procedure is initialized. After successful completion of the beam recovery procedure, the UE retransmits the data stored in the UL HARQ buffer. The UE prevents the data from being flushed from the UL HARQ buffer when the failure to track the one or multiple serving beams occurs, so that the data can be retransmitted.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for improving uplink transmissions in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method, a user equipment receives an indication indicating a type of data that can be transmitted using a cooperation mode. A first data is transmitted using the cooperation mode, in which the first data belongs to the type of data using the cooperation mode based on the indication. A second data is transmitted without using the cooperation mode, in which the second data does not belong to the type of data using the cooperation mode based on the indication. The cooperation mode is enabled when transmitting the first and second data.

In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a second signal indicating a number of beam sweeping from a cell, wherein there are multiple network nodes in the cell and at least two network nodes of the cell have different beamforming capabilities. The method also includes receiving a first signal from any network node of the cell at multiple time intervals based on the number of beam sweeping.
