Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computing system for identifying a storage target that has become corrupt within a data array. The storage target includes one or more corrupt data portions. A relevant backup copy of the storage target is identified. A “broken” mirror is established between the storage target and the relevant backup copy that identifies one or more differences between the storage target and the relevant backup copy. The storage target is rebuilt by overwriting the corrupt data portions within the storage target with corresponding non-corrupt data obtained from the relevant backup copy.

Abstract: Described are techniques for storing data. A data access pattern is identified for accessing a first set of data portions of a first logical device, wherein the data access pattern includes a time-ordered list of consecutively accessed logical addresses of the first logical device. The first set of data portions are arranged on a second logical device. The first set of data portions have corresponding logical addresses on the second logical device and such corresponding logical addresses have a consecutive sequential ordering based on the data access pattern. The first set of data portions are stored at physical device locations mapped to the corresponding logical addresses of the second logical device.

Abstract: A method for data defragmentation is disclosed, including: selecting a file that is stored in a content-addressable storage system, the file including a plurality of blocks, and the storage system including a plurality of deduplication chunks; arranging the plurality of blocks in block groups, each block group including a set of consecutive blocks having a combined size that matches a deduplication chunk size of the storage system; aligning each block group with a different one of the plurality of deduplication chunks of the storage system, such that the blocks in each block group are stored in the storage system in an order that is based on the order in which the blocks are positioned within the file.

Abstract: One example method includes creating an empty reconstruction stream database, identifying a data time interval, identifying data sources in which data was stored during the data time interval, reading data from the data sources, where the data read out from the data sources are associated with respective timestamps that fall within the data time interval, inserting the read out data into the empty reconstruction stream database so as to create a high resolution data stream, where the data are ordered in the empty reconstruction stream database according to timestamp, processing the data in the high resolution data stream and, based on the processing of the data, identifying and resolving a problem relating to an operating environment in which the data was initially generated.

Abstract: One example method includes discovering an application topology, discovering relationships between microservices that are elements of the application topology, ranking the microservices, identifying one or more of the microservices as a persistency microservice, selecting one or more persistency microservices for backup, and defining a backup policy based on the microservice relationships, the microservice rankings, and the selected persistent microservices. A backup operation is then performed that includes backing up persistent data and/or persistent metadata generated and/or modified by one or more of the persistency microservices.

Abstract: Embodiments of a compliance service that will enable users be compliant with all regulatory, industry processes and business needs at all times. The service is available to storage and data protection systems through a set of APIs that will enable such compliance be achieved and maintained with no user intervention and without labor-intensive manual work. The service will also allow storing the configuration of the data protection policies and create alerts when compliance changes. A data backup platform may include a data protection system that integrates with such a service and provides full regulatory/industry compliance.
