Abstract: An electric vehicle power supply includes a housing, a power supply, and a plurality of fasteners. The housing defines an internal cavity and has inwardly protruding tabs that extend into the cavity. The power assembly has a front cover and an end cover. The power assembly also has an array of electrical switching units arranged horizontally between the front and end covers. The front and end covers have outwardly protruding tabs. Each of the plurality of fasteners extend vertically, engage one inwardly protruding tab, and engage one outwardly protruding tab to secure the power assembly to the housing.

The irregular polyhedron shaped magnet assembly may be disposed in the magnet opening and may define a magnetization direction, wherein a height along the magnetization direction and perpendicular with a lamination plane of the rotor is greater at both ends than at a central portion disposed therebetween.

Abstract: A stator for an electric machine is formed in stratified layer forming a core having axial slots, and a plurality of hurdle-shaped conductors. Each conductor includes first and second uprights disposed in the slots, and a bridge connecting the uprights and extending circumferentially over a core end surface. The first upright is radially closer to a core central axis than the second upright. Each bridge steps radially outward from the first upright to the second upright. Radially adjacent bridges nest next to one another without crossing over one another. A junction between the first end of the bridge and the first upright defines a radially outward-facing ledge, and a junction between the second end and the second upright defines a radially inward-facing ledge. Each bridge passes over the outward-facing ledge of its radially inwardly adjacent conductor and passing over the inward-facing ledge of its radially outward adjacent conductor.

The rectifier and capacitors converting the first AC power to a second DC power. The system and method also including an inverter for converting the second DC power to an output AC power that is supplied to a split-phase output. The system and method also connecting one leg of the split-phase output between the at least two capacitors and to a center tap of the transformer to modify a voltage amplitude of the second DC power.

Abstract: Magnetic cores and method and fixtures for forming the same are disclosed. The magnetic core may comprise a magnetic body including magnetic grains and a magnetic flux path, the magnetic grains aligned in a plurality of distinct directional alignments to conform to the magnetic flux path. The grain orientation of the cores may be provided by fixtures including electrical circuits and/or permanent magnets. The fixtures may be configured to produce magnetic fields that approximate, mimic, or correspond to a magnetic flux path in the magnetic core, once it is consolidated and in use. The magnetic fields may orient the grains of the magnetic core when they are in an unconsolidated state, such that the grains are aligned in a plurality of directional alignments that approximate, mimic, or correspond to a magnetic flux path in the magnetic core.

Abstract: A power inductor assembly including a power inductor, a vehicle component, and a pair of distribution conduits is provided. The power inductor has a housing supporting a pair of coils. The vehicle component is located above the pair of coils. Each of the pair of distribution conduits is oriented relative to one of the pair of coils below the vehicle component and has one or more openings adjacent the coils to distribute coolant thereto. Each of the one or more openings may define one of a circular shape or a slot shape. Each of the one or more openings may be sized such that exiting coolant substantially uniformly covers the adjacent coil.

Abstract: An automotive motor includes a stator and a rotor disposed within the stator. The automotive motor also includes an endplate attached to the rotor that defines a coolant exit hole, an outer edge, and an array of staggered raised flow disruptors disposed radially between the coolant exit hole and outer edge. The array disrupts flow of coolant as the coolant travels from the coolant exit hole along a surface of the endplate toward the outer edge.

Abstract: Electronic devices are disclosed including hydrophobic or oleophobic coatings that control coolant flow therein or thereon. In at least one embodiment, an electric machine is provided including a stator core defining a cavity, windings disposed within the cavity and including end windings protruding from the cavity, and one or more layers of an oleophobic coating overlying the end windings and configured to control a flow of coolant over the end windings. A method may include applying one or more layers of a oleophobic coating to end windings of an electric machine stator such that the one or more layers control a flow of coolant over the end windings. The one or more layers may define coolant flow paths, which may direct coolant to areas of the electric machine requiring additional cooling, such as hot spots or neutral points.
