Abstract:
A capacitance detecting proximity sensor forms a proximity detection range in a spatially open region, avoids the effects resulting from peripheral objects outside the detection target, and enables proximity detection with few malfunctions. The proximity sensor includes: a first detection electrode and a second detection electrode that are disposed to have a predetermined range difference h with respect to a detection direction Y in which a detection subject comes into proximity to the proximity sensor and are independent from a ground potential; and a proximity detection circuit that outputs, as a proximity detection output, the difference between a capacitance to ground Ca formed by the first detection electrode and a capacitance to ground Cb formed by the second detection electrode.
Abstract:
A token having a body member with an opening therein and is configured to translate across a support surface. The token includes a sensing object movable within the opening as the body member moves across the support surface. The sensing object can be freely mounted for rotation, or pivotally mounted within the opening. The token can be formed of a plastic resin and metal sensing objects can be attached to the token. The sensing object mounted in the opening can further have detectable configurations such as openings and embedded metal to increase the characteristics that can be remotely sensed. A separator assembly having appropriate detectors or sensors can produce characteristic signals of the token which can be compared with pre-stored values to determine the authenticity of the token.
Abstract:
A coin dispensing apparatus is provided that has features to easily adjust the distance between the base plate and the rotating disk and to adapt to the thickness of the coins. The coin dispensing apparatus includes a disk (102) which separates coins one by one. A coin base (104) supports the coins which are moved by the disk. A body (100) includes the base and a step section (149) which provides different distances to the base to adapt to the thickness of the coins. A rotating shaft member (160) is selectively attached to the step section and can be adjusted to the body. The rotating shaft member for rotating the disk is selectively attached at the step section in stages. Therefore the distance between the disk and the base is adjusted to adapt the thickness of coin.
Abstract:
An adjustable bed includes a platform having a flexible surface, a flex mechanism adapted to flex the platform to form a flexion position that includes at least one of a sitting-up position and a knee break, and a tilt mechanism adapted to tilt the platform surface laterally, the flex and tilt mechanisms both being operable with the other mechanism in an operational state. Furthermore, the adjustable bed includes a side member disposed on a side of the platform, and a side-member lift mechanism adapted to raise the side member relative to the platform surface, the tilt mechanism tilting the platform surface toward the side member raised by the side-member lift mechanism.
Abstract:
A vehicle with an automatic engine stop/restart function comprises an engine, an automatic transmission having an oil pump driven in synchronism with the engine to supply an oil pressure to the automatic transmission, an oil pressure controller to hold the oil pressure in the automatic transmission during an automatic stop of the engine, and a control system. The control system is configured to: determine whether the oil pressure in the automatic transmission becomes lower than a predetermined value during the engine automatic stop; shift the automatic transmission into a neutral state when the oil pressure in the automatic transmission becomes lower than a predetermined value during the engine automatic stop; restarts the engine; and then, shift the automatic transmission into a drive state after the oil pressure in the automatic transmission is increased to the predetermined value by the oil pump driven in synchronism with the engine.
Abstract:
A cashing device for a prepaid card in a housing which contains a card receiving unit for prepaid cards, a card reading unit to determine the balance on the old prepaid card inserted into the device, a card writing unit to initialize and record the balance on a card, a card handling unit for moving the prepaid card selectively between the various units within the device, a money storage unit and money dispenser for selectively dispensing various denominations from the money storage unit. The device has a display unit with an integrated touch panel keyboard for a user interface. The touch panel keyboard unit issues commands to the control unit which in turn operates the units in the device to refund the balance of a prepaid to the user. The device has a storage area for prepaid cards to recycle the prepaid card after cashing. The device has the capability of returning tokens instead of cash for the balance on a prepaid card. Hence, the device contains a token storage unit and a token dispensing unit. The device has the ability to receive banknotes and dispense a new prepaid card. Hence, the device contains a banknote receiving unit and a new card stack unit. The banknote receiving unit includes a banknote reading unit which is capable of discriminating valid banknote denominations and rejecting fraudulent banknotes. The new card stack unit contains unused cards which may be initialized and a balance recorded thereon.
Abstract:
An automatic bank note pushing device is movably mounted for extending into and out of a bank note storing holder that in turn is slidably mounted in a bank note storing device or safe. The pushing member can retract from the bank note storing holder when the lid is open to enable the bank note storing holder to be slid out. The pushing member can be activated to extend into the bank note storing holder to bias a stack of bank notes to a discharge position when the lid is closed.
Abstract:
A banknote release and storage apparatus is provided for both discharging banknotes from a safe and for re-inserting a banknote through the same discharge opening back into the safe. A stacked array of banknotes can have the lower-most banknote discharged through an opening for dispensing to a user. Conversely, a banknote returned to the same discharge opening can be re-inserted when a lifting unit lifts one end of the stacked array of banknotes to create a receptive storage space and a let-off device is driven in a reverse direction for drawing the banknote back into the storage unit.
Abstract:
A coin dispensing apparatus having a coin hopper for storing bulk coins in a rotating disk coin selector mounted at a lower portion of coin hopper is provided. An overload prevention support member can extend above and across the rotating coin selector unit, and can be vertically movable, while being supported by the vertical walls of the coin hopper. A plurality of support members can be mounted within the coin hopper. An agitator member can be mounted to extend upward from the rotating disk coin selector to agitate the stored coins, and, in one embodiment, to contact the overload prevention support members and drive them upward to assist in removing a bearing weight from the rotating disk coin selector.
Abstract:
An automatic bill storage device for storing bills of different widths or sizes, includes a bill loading device for receiving a bill and positioning it at an initial storage position. A bill contact device can then engage the bill at the initial storage position and translate the bill to other side of a restraining device to a storage location that is biased by a movable plate. A contact member can contact an intermediate portion of the bill and translate the bill by a moving contact that extends from the intermediate portion of the bill towards one end of the bill as the bill is moved towards the storage location. This looping movement of contact can accommodate bills of different width in a compact configuration and can permit an initial bending of the bills from the initial storage position to aligning the bills so that they are straightened so that they can be stored in a stacked array in an efficient and compact manner.
