摘要: An adjustable bed including a laterally tiltable platform, a tilt mechanism that tilts the platform laterally, and a load-applying unit that applies, in a state in which the platform is tilted within a predetermined angle range during operation of the tilt mechanism, a load to the platform in a direction that suppresses an expansion of the tilt angle, so as to prevent one of a compression load and a tension load exerted on the tilt mechanism by the platform from reversing to the other load type. The adjustable bed may be structured so that the predetermined angle range includes a tilt angle at which a gravitational center of the platform during the tilt operation traverses a vertical line containing a rotational center of the platform with the load-applying unit in a non-operational state.

摘要: To provide an adjustable bed that assists a user to turn comfortably in his or her sleep without mental stress. Once an automatic mode starts, measurement on the depth of sleep of the user lying on the bed is launched. The depth of sleep is measured by detecting biological information such as brain waves, heart rate, and respiratory rate of the user using electrode sensors or the like, and analyzing the biological information according to a polysomnography method or the like. If the depth of sleep is 0, i.e., the user is in REM sleep, and if one hour or more has passed since the measurement is launched or since an immediately preceding turn operation, a turn operation is performed to turn the user.

摘要: An air damper capable of stabilizing a damping force of the air damper is obtained. When a rod member (16) is pulled out of a cylinder member (20), a suction member (60) hits against the other side surface (56) of a piston member (30) so as to close an air passage (28), and an airflow path communicating between an air chamber (26) and an outside is only orifice portions (42). On the other hand, when the rod member (16) is pushed into the cylinder member (20), the suction member (60) moves away from the other side surface (56) of the piston member (30) so as to open the air passage (28). Consequently, compared to a conventional structure in which an O-ring rolls by a friction force with an inner peripheral surface of a cylinder so as to open or close the air passage, the air passage (28) can be opened and closed as intended so as to be capable of stabilizing the damping force.

摘要: The magnitude of a linear damping coefficient Cs is set so as to decrease the greater a maximum amplitude value α of an intermediate frequency sprung acceleration is. In the case where a damping force control apparatus carries out control for dampening vibrations of a sprung member using a nonlinear H-infinity control theory, the linear damping coefficient Cs is set to a high value when the maximum amplitude value α of the intermediate frequency sprung acceleration inputted to a suspension apparatus is low. Accordingly, a requested damping force Freq also increases, which makes it possible to quickly dampen vibrations in the sprung member. Meanwhile, in the case where the maximum amplitude value α of the intermediate frequency sprung acceleration is high, the linear damping coefficient Cs is set to a low value. Accordingly, the requested damping force Freq also decreases, which makes it possible to suppress degradation in the riding quality when intermediate frequency vibrations are inputted, and particularly makes it possible to suppress riding quality degradation when the vibration speed is high.
