摘要: The present invention is to provide meiosis-specific novel kinetochore protein Sgo1 (shugoshin) derived from fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe, and a homologue or paralogue thereof having a regulatory activity of chromosome segregation; and DNAs encoding them; as a factor ensuring the retention of unidirection and cohesion in sister centromere at meiosis I in cooperation with cohesin. To elucidate the proteins protecting Rec8 during anaphase, the present inventor screened in fission yeast genes for a gene that inhibits mitotic growth and prevents sister chromatid from the separation at anaphase, when co-expressed with Rec8. In this approach, meiosis-specific protein Sgo1 that protects (Shugo) centromeric Rec8 from the degradation at anaphase I was identified. Further, a budding yeast Sgo1 homologue and a fission yeast mitotic paralogue Sgo2 were identified.

摘要: A packet information extraction circuit derives predetermined key information (for example, destination information or transmission source information) from a received packet. A HASH result computation circuit generates m (a plurality of) pseudo-random numbers (HASH results) of fixed length from the derived information. A cache table holds the key information and cumulative packet lengths within a predetermined time period by using the generated pseudo-random numbers as addresses. When a threshold value holding and comparing circuit senses that the cumulative packet length has exceeded a value held therein, it sends a notification signal to judgment means disposed in a packet exchange system. The key information items and the cumulative values of the packet lengths are stored in the cache table on the basis of the received packets in such a way that larger cumulative packet lengths are left behind, whereas smaller cumulative packet lengths are erased.

摘要: The invention relates to a coding apparatus for embedding second data into first data without deteriorating the first data and a decoding apparatus for decoding coded data into original first data and second data without deteriorating those data. The invention provides a coding apparatus which has a memory for storing at least partial data of first data, and embeds second data into the first data by rearranging, according to the second data, the at least partial data of the first data that is stored in the memory. The invention also provides a coding apparatus for decoding coded data in which second data is embedded and at least partial data of the coded data has been subjected to rearrangement by using one of a plurality of rearrangement patterns. The decoding apparatus calculates correlation between adjacent data for each rearrangement pattern, and decodes the original first data and the second data according to a rearrangement pattern that is determined based on the correlation.

摘要: An information processing apparatus having a resume function which can maintain the security even when a plurality of users commonly use the apparatus. A work state at a power-off time of the apparatus is preserved together with a work state name including a user's ID in a different area in a plurality of preservation areas for resume function on a main memory for each user. When a power source is again turned on, data in the preservation area corresponding to the user's ID is used to reproduce the work state of the user at the power-off time. The work preservation areas can be provided on a file server apparatus in a network not needing battery back-up. When the information processing apparatus is used, a work state at a power-off time can be independently preserved and reproduced for each user.

摘要: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus and method destined for processing image data sent via a communication system. In the apparatus and method, image data corresponding to designation data supplied from the user are coupled to each other for grouping, features of the image data corresponding to the designation data, and the image data once coupled together as in the above are uncoupled according to the features of the grouped image data, to thereby accurately localize an area the user is interested in. Also, according to the present invention, a time interval between the designation data is computed, and the image data are coupled to each other when the computed time interval is less than a predetermined threshold, while they are not coupled to each other when the computed time interval exceeds the predetermined threshold, thereby detecting when the user's interest shifts to another image area. With this detection of the shift of the user's interest, it is possible to accurately localize an area the user is interested in.
