Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for wireless communication. In one aspect, a method includes generating, by an access point, a frame, the frame assigning first resource units to first devices participating in a multi-user transmission with the access point during a transmission opportunity, and further indicating second resource units available during the transmission opportunity for transmissions to other devices, transmitting the frame; and receiving the multi-user transmission from the first devices according to the resource unit assignments.

Abstract: Techniques for implementing low latency communications in a wireless local area network are provided. A first wireless communication device may implement a low latency basic service set (BSS) that allows contention-based channel access over a portion of a bandwidth. The first wireless communication device may configure a primary channel and one or more secondary channels within an available bandwidth. Communications with one or more wireless communication devices that have data traffic associated with a quality of service (QoS) parameter may be provided over one or more of the secondary channels. A transmission from a second wireless communication device on the primary channel may be discarded by the first wireless communication device, or the first wireless communication device may take over channel access from the second wireless communication device if such a transmission overlaps with low latency transmissions on the one or more secondary channels.

Abstract: This disclosure provide systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for providing service connectivity to a service of a service provider via a wireless local area network (WLAN). Several service connectivity techniques are described. In some implementations, a first wireless device may establish a communication link with the AP to access the service. In some implementations, the first wireless device may be an internet of things (IoT) device, and may be a headless IoT device. The communication link may be established without the wireless device joining a Basic Service Set (BSS) of an access point (AP). The service connectivity may be implemented using broadcast services between an AP and the wireless device. The broadcast services may be used for uplink broadcast traffic from the wireless device to a service provider via the AP. The service connectivity techniques may support onboarding and security features.

Abstract: This disclosure provide systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for broadcast services feedback techniques. Several broadcast connectivity and feedback techniques are described. A broadcast connectivity protocol may be used by different types of wireless communication devices (such as an access point (AP) and station (STA)) to provide or access broadcast services. A security protocol or enhancement to the broadcast connectivity protocol may provide source authentication or verification for broadcast transmissions. The broadcast services feedback techniques can enable an AP to obtain feedback from one or more STAs. In some implementations, a negative acknowledgement (NACK) scheme may be used to efficiently obtain feedback from multiple STAs. The broadcast connectivity and feedback techniques may be used by a STA that does not have a wireless association with the AP. The techniques may be useful in servicing a multiple STAs in an environment.

Abstract: Methods and systems for sounding a wireless network are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, by an access point a message including a beamforming report from a device. The device may be a station that is outside a basic service set of the access point. The method also includes transmitting a message to the device based on the beamforming report. For example, in some aspects, the access point may utilize the beamforming report to perform a coordinated beamforming, multi-access point transmission or a multi-access point MIMO transmission. In some aspects, the access point may transmit an interference nulling signal to the device based on the beamforming report. The nulling signal compensates for another simultaneous transmission by the access point that interferes with the device's reception of a message from an access point with which the device is associated.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for signaling basic service set (BSS) identifiers (BSSIDs). A group of BSSs may form a Multiple BSSID set in which one BSS sent management frames on behalf of other BSSs (referred to as non-transmitting BSSIDs). For example, a management frame (such as a Beacon Frame or Probe Response Frame) may include a list of BSSIDs for some or all of the non-transmitting BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. An indicator in the management frame may indicate whether the management frame includes a partial list or complete list of non-transmitting BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. The management frame may include a count or bitmap to indicate the quantity of BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set. A station (STA) may indicate which BSSIDs it has discovered and request the remaining BSSIDs in the Multiple BSSID set.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for communicating in a wireless network. In one aspect, a wireless local area network (WLAN) apparatus may operate a first virtual access point (VAP) associated with a first basic service set (BSS) and at least a second VAP associated with a second BSS. The WLAN apparatus may generate and output a management frame for transmission to a first STA associated with the first BSS. The management frame may include one or more signaling attributes indicating the first VAP associated with the first BSS and the second VAP associated with the second BSS are being operated at the WLAN apparatus. The first STA may receive the management frame and determine, based on the one or more signaling attributes of the management frame, that the first VAP associated with the first BSS and the second VAP associated with the second BSS are being operated at the WLAN apparatus.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for coordinating access to a shared wireless medium among multiple master devices operating on the same frequency band. In some implementations, master devices may contend for access to the shared medium during a medium reservation window (MRW). During the MRW, master devices may advertise their intent to reserve at least a portion of the shared medium for one or more timeslots within a subsequent medium utilization period. The reservation messages may be broadcast to other master devices in the vicinity to prevent other master devices from accessing the wireless medium during a reserved timeslot. In some implementations, the owner of a timeslot may share at least a portion of its timeslot with other master devices. For example, the timeslot owner may enable other master devices to utilize an unused portion of the wireless medium, such as unused channels, spatial streams, or time.
