    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A network entity (e.g., a roadside unit, a relay node, a user equipment (UE), or a base station) may use a network coding indication in a transmission that indicates the transmission is a network coded transmission (i.e., the transmission includes retransmitted packets from UEs in a wireless communications system). The indication may be explicitly or implicitly signaled in control information. For example, control information may include a field that explicitly identifies the network coded transmission. Additionally or alternatively, the control information may implicitly identify the network coded transmission, such as by indicating a format of control signaling or including a special source identifier in the network coded transmission. The network coded transmission may also include one or more network coding parameters that identify parameters of the original transmission.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE), may receive, at a processing layer of the UE, sets of discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle parameters from a corresponding set of applications at an application layer of the UE. The UE may determine, based on the sets of DRX parameters, a common DRX cycle to satisfy each of the sets of applications. The UE may transmit the common DRX cycle to one or more layers in the user plane protocol stack of the UE. A base station may also receive a request, from the UE, for a set of DRX cycle parameters that satisfies the common DRX cycle of the UE. The base station may transmit an indication of the set of DRX parameters, and receive, from the UE, a confirmation of a DRX cycle associated with the set of DRX cycle parameters.

    Abstract: Aspects relate to sidelink positioning using second stage sidelink control information (SCI-2). A first wireless communication device (e.g., first UE) may transmit SCI-2 including a sidelink positioning establishment message to establish a sidelink positioning session with at least a second wireless communication device (e.g., a second UE). Each of the first UE and second UE may then transmit positioning reference signals (PRSs) and generate and transmit sidelink positioning information based on the PRSs during the sidelink positioning session. The sidelink positioning information may further be transmitted via SCI-2.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a user equipment (UE) may estimate one or more channel availability parameter values. The UE may then select, based on a co-channel configuration indicating a relationship between channel availability parameter values and patterns of sidelink resources, a pattern of sidelink resources (e.g., LTE resources) on which to transmit NR packets. In some examples, a special UE may receive individual or aggregated reports of channel availability parameter values. The special UE may select a pattern of sidelink resources (e.g., LTE resources) on which one of the reporting UEs is permitted to transmit NR packets, and may transmit a message activating the pattern of sidelink resources to the reporting UE. The reporting UE may then use the activated sidelink LTE resources for transmitting NR packets according to the indicated pattern.

    Abstract: An improved manner of transmitting and receiving messages in sidelink communication is presented in which a wireless device receives sidelink control information (SCI) that indicates a zone ID associated with a sidelink message. The wireless device determines a location of the wireless device and determines whether to send feedback for the sidelink message based, at least in part, on the zone ID associated with the sidelink message and the location of the wireless device. The feedback may include hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback, and the sidelink message may include a groupcast message. The wireless device may further receive an indication of an intended range in the SCI and may determine whether to send the feedback based on a combination of the zone ID and the intended range for the sidelink message.
