摘要: Disclosed is a self-healing apparatus and method of an optical receiver that is capable of avoiding error due to temperature variation in the optical receiver when determining the bit rate. The apparatus includes an optoelectric converting unit for converting an input optical signal into an electrical signal; an amplifying unit for amplifying the electrical signal outputted from the optoelectric converting unit; a bit rate discriminating unit for exclusively OR'ing the electrical signal with a delay signal that is delayed from the amplified receiving signal by a predetermined time, thereby outputting a recognition signal; a clock/data reproducing unit for receiving the electrical signal, and for reproducing clocks and data based on a reference clock; a bit rate signal generating unit for generating the reference clock in response to a bit rate change signal; a temperature sensing unit for outputting a temperature sensing signal that is indicative of the internal temperature of the optical receiver; and, a control unit for determining the bit rate of the receiving signal based on a value selected from temperature-dependent voltage level variation values that are previously stored, on the basis of the voltage level of the recognition signal outputted from the bit rate discriminating unit and the internal temperature of the optical receiver corresponding to the temperature sensing signal, and for outputting the bit rate change signal based on the determined bit rate.

摘要: A system for performing transmission and reception operations based on broadcast/communication convergence. A transmitter adapted for the broadcast/communication convergence converts input broadcast data into a parallel format, inserts port identification (Port ID) information into each of the broadcast data converted into the parallel format and input communication data, multiplexes the broadcast data and the communication data, and transmits a broadcast/communication convergence signal based on a result of the multiplexing through a single transmission channel. A receiver adapted for the broadcast/communication convergence demultiplexes the broadcast/communication convergence signal using the Port ID information to be separated into the broadcast data and the communication data when the broadcast/communication convergence signal is received, and outputs data to a corresponding destination.

摘要: A dual-port broadband light source is disclosed. In the dual-port broadband light source, a first beam splitter splits a first ASE at a first ratio into the second and third light paths and outputs the first ASE received from the second light path to the first light path. A second beam splitter splits a second ASE at a second ratio into the second and fourth light sources and outputs the second ASE received from the second light path to the first light path. A first reflector reflects input first and second ASEs in the first light path, and a second reflector reflects input first and second ASEs in the second light path. A first gain medium generates the first ASE between the first reflector and the first beam splitter, and a second gain medium generates the second ASE between the first reflector and the second beam splitter.
