摘要: In an embodiment, a mask inspection apparatus for detecting defects in a semiconductor pattern on a mask includes optics for combining light transmitted through or reflected from the mask with a reference beam. The two light beams are transmitted through a second-order non-linear optical system. Mask defects affect the transmitted/reflected light and may be detected by analyzing the transmitted light intensity. The second-order non-linear optical system amplifies selected elements of the combined beam, thus improving detection.

摘要: A method for selecting a relay mode depending on channel status of relay links in a multihop relay broadband wireless communication system and a Relay Station (RS) apparatus for supporting the method. When signals are received from a Base Station (BS) and a Mobile Station (MS), channel status values (e.g., eigenvalue, mutual information, and probability error) of relay links (BS-RS link and RS-MS link) are estimated using the received signals. The estimated channel status values are compared with a preset reference value. According to a result of the comparison, the relay mode for relaying the received signals is selected. Accordingly, the reliability of the relayed signal can be enhanced and the capacity of the signal link can be increased.

摘要: An apparatus and method for controlling power in a multi-hop relay broadband wireless communication system are provided. A BS sends a signal to an RS and an MS to estimate distances between the BS, the RS and the MS. Upon receipt of signals from the RS and the MS, the BS measures ToAs of the received signals and detects time information included in the received signals, and calculates propagation delays between the BS, the RS and the MS based on the ToAs and the time information. The BS estimates the distances between the BS, the RS and the MS using the propagation delays, and controls transmission power according to the estimated distances.

摘要: A caller identification system provides a caller identifier of an actual user rather than the conventional telephone number dependent on a caller terminal. Further, a caller base billing method and its system can bill an actual user by carrying out user authentication through a certification authority for a caller identifier that is independent of a caller terminal. The method includes the steps of receiving authentication information of the caller from a caller terminal; verifying the authentication information; and carrying out call setup if the authentication information and the certificate match, wherein the authentication information is generated by using a caller identifier and a private key that are applied by the caller, with no dependency on the caller terminal, and caller information corresponding to the caller identifier is transmitted to a callee terminal during call setup.

摘要: An apparatus and method for reducing a Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in a broadband wireless communication system. A transmitter classifies symbols into full-symbols and sub-symbols, and divides a transmission full-symbol into at least two sub-symbols and transmits the sub-symbols, when the transmission full-symbol has a PAPR larger than a threshold set in the system. A receiver checks a transmitted symbol, determines if a full-symbol or a sub-symbol has arrived, and outputs a data when the full-symbol has arrived.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for measuring a propagation delay value of a frame transmitted by a UE (User Equipment) to a Node B in a TDD (Time Division Duplexing) mobile communication system. The UE acquires synchronization with the Node B based on a downlink pilot channel signal transmitted in a period of a downlink pilot time slot, and determines an estimated round trip delay value T1 by comparing transmission power of a physical common channel signal in a first time slot with reception power of the same signal. The UE receives a transmission point correcting value T2 through a forward physical access channel (FPACH) signal transmitted from the Node B in a period of one downlink time slot among the time slots, and transmits a physical random access channel (PRACH) message with the estimated round trip delay value T1 at a transmission point determined based on T2 and T1.
