    Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a mobile edge network-based intelligent routing service is provided. The intelligent routing service includes using default network devices to initially provide application services to end devices. The intelligent routing service further includes selecting and migrating the application services to a multi-layered mobile edge computing network when performance metrics associated with the application services are not satisfied. The intelligent routing service may determine whether performance metrics are satisfied based on performance metric information obtained from the serving nodes and the end devices.

    Abstract: A Multi-access Edge Computing (“MEC”) controller may predict locations for a tracked UE at different future times, and may also predict content that the tracked UE may request at the different future times. The predictions may be based on MEC controller computing probabilities for the tracked UE being at the different locations at the different future times, and/or probabilities for the content that the tracked UE is likely to request at the different locations and/or future times. The MEC controller may identify a MEC device that provides extremely low latency service and/or optimally serves a network area that includes a predicted location. The MEC controller may issue a prefetch message to the MEC device that causes the MEC device to prefetch predicted content that the tracked UE is likely to request at the future time the tracked UE is likely to reach the predicted location.

    Abstract: A network device may instantiate a first process in a first Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) cluster within a first MEC network; register the first MEC network at a MEC cloud; receive a call from the first process to obtain information from a second process in a second MEC cluster within a second MEC network that is registered at the MEC cloud; create a first message based on the call; send the first message from the first MEC cluster to the second MEC cluster; receive, at the first MEC cluster, a second message from the second MEC cluster, wherein the second message is provided by the second MEC cluster in response to receiving the first message; and extract a return value from the second message, wherein the return value is generated by the second process in response to receipt of the call in the second MEC cluster.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for network slice selection during an initial connection. A wireless station receives, from a core network device, network slice data for each network slice available via the wireless station, wherein the network slice data includes a slice identifier and corresponding slice characteristics for each network slice. The wireless station receives, from a user equipment (UE) device, a registration request message that indicates a network slice characteristic required by an application being executed on UE device. The wireless station selects, based on the network slice data from the core network device and the network slice characteristic from the UE device, one of the slice identifiers for servicing the UE device.

    Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a network control component, an enhanced subscriber profile identifier (E-SPID) associated with at least one machine type communications (MTC) user device from a home subscriber server (HSS). The method includes determining whether the E-SPID is in a first range of E-SPID values, wherein the first range of E-SPID values corresponds to a delay that exceeds a threshold, and interacting with a self-organizing network (SON) controller that interacts an operation administration maintenance (OAM) component to control and define a modified E-SPID based on network traffic and coverage in response to a determination that the E-SPID is in the first range of E-SPID values. The method further includes sending the modified E-SPID to at least one enhanced evolved node b (eNodeB) associated with the at least one MTC user device, wherein the at least one enhanced eNodeB is operable to perform access control and scheduling for the at least one MTC user device based on the E-SPID.
