Abstract:
A connector assembly may include first and second connector bodies and a terminal splitter. The second connector body may matingly engage the first connector body. The terminal splitter may be received in at least one of the first and second connector bodies. The terminal splitter may include a body portion having first and second wires connected thereto and a blade portion extending from the body portion and including a third wire connected thereto. The third wire may be joined to a female receptacle mounted in the other one of the connector bodies for being joined to the blade portion.
Abstract:
The present teachings provide for an electrical connector including a first housing, power terminals, and first and second shunts. The terminals and shunts are located within a cavity of defined by the first housing. The first housing is configured to mate with a second housing to transfer power between a power storage device and components of an electric or hybrid electric vehicle. The first shunt is configured to complete an interlock circuit. The second shunt is configured to complete a service disconnect circuit. The interlock circuit prevents the transfer of power between the first and second housings when the circuit is broken and allows it when complete. The service disconnect circuit causes the power storage device to be substantially electrically isolated from the rest of the vehicle when the circuit is broken.
Abstract:
A convoluted tube for enclosing a wire harness can include a tubular body portion extending in a longitudinal direction. The tubular body portion can define a slit that extends in the longitudinal direction and that separates first and second contact surfaces of the tubular body portion. The convoluted tube can also include a conductive ink coupled to at least one of the first and second contact surfaces. The conductive ink can be configured to generate heat when an appropriate magnetic field is applied. The first contact surface can be configured to fuse with the second contact surface upon application of the appropriate magnetic field to the conductive ink such that the wire harness enclosed within the interior of the tubular body portion does not extend through the slit.
Abstract:
A connector assembly that includes first and second connector housings, which are configured to hold a plurality of male terminals, a pair of lock tabs, which are disposed on opposite sides of the first connector housing, and a male terminal protector that is engaged to the lock tabs to protect ends of the male terminals that are to engage the female terminals when the second connector housing is fully mated to the first connector housing. The male terminal protector is released from the lock tabs when the second connector housing is positioned in a connector pre-set condition so that they do not impede movement of the male terminal protector when the second connector is moved toward the first connector housing to align and mate the female terminals with the male terminals.
Abstract:
An indicator gauge assembly can include at least one primary indicator gauge, a trim member substantially surrounding the at least one primary indicator gauge, and at least one auxiliary indicator gauge arranged within the trim piece member. The trim member can include an opaque portion and a transparent portion. The at least one auxiliary indicator gauge can be arranged within the transparent portion.
Abstract:
An electrical device according to the principles of the present disclosure includes a frame, a conductor having a conductive element and an electrically insulating cover disposed about at least a portion of the conductive element, and a busbar mounted to the frame. The busbar includes a busbar body and a weld crimp. The weld crimp has a base, which extends from the busbar body, and a cross-member that is coupled to the base on a side of the base that is opposite the busbar body. The cross-member has a weld portion and a crimp portion. The weld portion intersects the base. The crimp portion intersects the weld portion and has a crimp member that receives the conductor. The crimp member is permanently deformed about the conductor so as to apply a clamping force to the conductor. The conductive element is welded to the weld portion.
Abstract:
A connector assembly having a first connector portion, which has a lever that is configured to slide a pair of cam track structures, and a second connector portion that includes a plurality of cam followers that are received into cam tracks in the cam track structures. The lever can be operated to draw the first connector portion toward the second connector portion to couple first and second terminals together.

Abstract:
A system is disclosed for correcting a color of light being generated by an LCD image system having an LED and an LCD glass component that is illuminated by the LED. A plurality of color correction filters are constructed, with each providing a predetermined, differing color shift to light being output by the LCD glass component, based on a measured color of the light being output from the LCD glass component. Each of the color correction filters is constructed based on a known range of color variations that may be present in a color of the light being output from the LCD glass component. Each filter provides a color shift that shifts the color of the light being output from the LCD glass component from outside a predetermined target color area back into the predetermined target color area.
Abstract:
A grommet for housing electrical wires constructed in accordance with the teachings of the present disclosure includes a mounting structure, a tube, and a plurality of stiffeners. The mounting structure is configured to mount to a panel of a vehicle, the mounting structure defining a first passage extending therethrough. The tube extends from the mounting structure and defines a second passage in communication with the first passage. The tube includes a corrugated portion having a plurality of ridges and a plurality of grooves interposed between the plurality of ridges. The stiffeners are interposed between those of the plurality of ridges that are disposed within a zone of the corrugated portion. The stiffeners extend partially around a circumference of the tube.
