    Abstract: A valve device includes: a valve having a ball surface having a convex spherical shape, and a first opening opened in the ball surface to allow fluid to pass through; and a seat having an annular shape and opposing the ball surface to be in sliding contact, the seat being pressed against the ball surface, the seat having a second opening to communicate with the first opening. The seat has a sealing surface in a sliding contact with the ball surface at a valve closed time when the ball surface and the second opening overlap with each other, and a seat contact surface in a sliding contact with an opening inner wall surface or an opening end surface of the first opening at a valve opened time when the first opening and the second opening overlap with each other.

    Abstract: A top entry ball valve includes a housing with a central cavity communicating with two bores co-axial along a first axis. A ball valve element is rotatably mounted within the cavity for rotation about a second axis. The valve element includes a through bore; first and second seat assemblies, mounted within the co-axial bores, respectively; first and second gear assemblies engaged with the seat assemblies, respectively; and first and second rotatable drives engaged with the gear assemblies respectively. The gear assemblies are configured to move the seat assemblies along the first axis in a first direction away from the valve element when the drives are rotated in a first direction, and to move the seat assemblies along the first axis in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, when the drives are rotated in the opposite direction, to bring the seat assemblies into sealing contact with the valve element.

    Abstract: A top entry trunnion mounted rotary ball valve suitable for safe in-line maintenance, comprising a main valve body having an upstream and a downstream ball seat assembly, the ball seat assemblies further comprising a soft insert seal, a ball seat, a seat retainer and a plurality of compression springs in between the ball seat and the seat retainer. A guiding groove on the cylindrical surface of each of the ball seats, having a first end and a second end at an axial distance equal to or more than the measure of retraction required so as to get the mechanical clearance adequate to remove or assemble the ball member, the angular span between the first end and the second end of the guiding groove can be less than 180 degrees or more than 360 degrees, depending on the overall size of rotary ball valve, in order to be able to manually retract in the ball seats. Each ball seat is retracted in the recess, with the aid of a guide assembly, by using a straight rod, against a force Fc of the compression springs and the mechanical clearance is created between the ball member and the soft insert seal, to remove or assemble the ball member and or any or all components from or inside the valve body. Additionally, the pressure plate can also fix the rotation of an adjacent flow disk, allowing for angular-orientation specific flow characterizing features to be used with the flow disk. By fixing the rotation of the flow disk, the ball valve can characterize flows using a greater variety of flow disk geometries, including angular-orientation dependent and angular-orientation independent flow disks. Further, the pressure plate could also be directly in the form of a flow disk that has anti-rotation features.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a bellow for use in a ball valve, the bellow comprising: a metallic seat at an end of the bellow for providing a contact surface with a ball of a ball valve; and a metallic body integral with the seat; wherein the metallic body has a longitudinally elastic property such that, when the bellow is in use in a ball valve and the bellow is arranged within the housing of the ball valve so that it is always under longitudinal compression, substantially only the compression in the bellow causes the seat to apply a sealing force against the ball of the ball valve that maintains a mechanical seal between the seat and the ball valve. Advantageously, embodiments allow a new design of ball valve that maintains a high standard of performance in subsea environments over long time periods.

    Abstract: A draining device for a machine tool, which is assembled in a drain hole of a base of the machine tool, includes a ball, an outer shell, a sealing member and a flat head screw. The ball has a through hole defined therein. The outer shell has a receiving hole and the ball is received in the receiving hole of the outer shell. The sealing member has a guiding hole defined therethrough. The sealing member is inserted in the receiving hole of the outer shell and abutting against the ball with one end. The flat head screw is screwed in the base and a head portion of the flat head screw presses a top end of the outer shell. Under this arrangement, the ball is rotatable relative to the outer shell so as to adjust an angle of the through hole of the ball.
