Abstract:
An index tab for mounting on a sheet member, which is provided with keying means in the form of a protrusion, comprises a mainly planar base sheet. A first side of the base sheet comprises a non-adhesive printing surface and a second side of the base sheet includes an adhesive coating. A non-adhesive region disposed on the second side forms an adhesive-free pocket for guiding and receiving the keying means when the base sheet is folded about an intermediate fold line for mounting on the sheet member.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a laminate construction including a backing sheet, which may be in the form of a continuous web, and a face sheet covering at least a portion of the backing sheet. A releasable adhesive secures a first or lower surface of the face sheet to a first or upper surface of the backing sheet such that the face sheet and backing sheet are readily separable. The releasable adhesive contains therein a first composition which, when subjected to an imaging force, forms a latent image on both of the first surfaces of the face and backing sheets. This latent image may be developed at a later time by contacting the image with a second composition which, when exposed to the first composition, forms a visible image. In the laminate, the face sheet may be imprinted with legible and/or covert information. The covert information may be duplicated on the underside of the face sheet or on one or more intermediate sheets as well as a backing sheet. The face sheet can then be readily peeled from the construction and be used as a label, tag, form, or the like. The underlying sheets retain the same information as the face sheet. The covert or latent information can be developed at a later time to produce a visible image. All elements of the construction have nontacky surfaces, permitting easy handling and storage.
Abstract:
A continuous business form has a carrier sheet formed of conventional paper (i.e., without a wax or silicone coating) and a forms portion adhered to the carrier sheet by release adhesive (transfer adhesive) adhered to the underside of the forms portion. The forms portion may be peeled from the carrier sheet for application and adherence to another surface while the carrier sheet may be used as paper, for example, for use in impact printing processes.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a postage ad label assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the assembly includes a label having a print side onto which an advertisement can be printed and an adhesive side. A pressure sensitive adhesive is affixed to the adhesive side and releasably secures the label to a backing member. A postage stamp is affixed on the print side of said label. Said label can be peeled from said backing member and placed on an envelope to affix postage to the envelope for mailing.
Abstract:
An imprintable sheet of plastic is proposed having a carrier sheet and a layer applied on at least one side for receiving an imprint in which to improve the absorbency, to increase the drying speed of the imprint and to improve the outline sharpness of the imprint the layer receiving the imprint consists of a firm polymer matrix and microporous finely divided solid particles embedded therein. Furthermore, a method is described for producing such an imprintable sheet. The sheet is preferably used for making imprintable self-adhesive or non-self-adhesive labels.
Abstract:
A tape product for use in attaching shipping documents (such as packing slips, sales slips, invoices, letters) or the like to the outside of various containers with the tape being transparent and including a sticky adhesive material on the back side thereof with one or more separate coated layers also on the back side of the tape, said coated layers comprising in one embodiment a first layer of backward printed letters which are readable when the tape is in position on a container and a second layer comprised of a contrasting background color which facilitates the reading of the letters when the tape is in position on the container, in another embodiment a single layer of transparent coating material, and in other embodiments opaque and transparent layers used in various combinations with one another and in differing areas and number of layers, such layers rendering a portion of the adhesive material nonsticky so that documents may be retained without tearing or sticking to the tape product; and, the method of preparing such tape products.
Abstract:
A resistant tag structure which includes a laminate of a thin metal foil and a web of high density self-bonded spun polyethylene fibers, the laminate being generally rectangular and having a web face equipped with printed indicia for the receipt of tag information, as by carbon imprinting.

Abstract:
A label-liner combination is provided. A liner substrate is segmented into three portions by horizontal die cut ties made in the liner substrate. The three portions comprise a top portion, a liner tear strip, and a bottom portion. A label substrate is segmented into three portions by perforations a border portion, a label tear strip, and a center portion. A front side of the liner substrate is aligned with a backside of the label substrate such that the liner tear strip aligns within the label tear strip, the bottom portion of the liner substrate aligns with the center portion of the label substrate, and the top portion of the liner substrate is aligned above and below a top perforation for the label tear strip.
Abstract:
A linerless label media includes a substrate having a first side, a second side and a longitudinal axis. The first side of the substrate has a release coat. The second side of the substrate has at least one area of a first adhesive having a first thickness, and at least one different area of a second adhesive having a greater thickness than the first thickness of the area of the first adhesive. The greater thickness of the second adhesive reduces a contact between the first adhesive and the release coat when the linerless label media includes a linerless label roll configured for use in a printer. A linerless label roll is also described.
