    摘要: A laminate 40 for a tamper-resistant identity document, the laminate comprising: a carrier film (10, FIG. 1) having a first adhesive layer 11 on a surface thereof, the first adhesive layer 11 comprising one or more visible registration features 13; and a cover film (20, FIG. 2b) having a first surface (20a, FIG. 2b) removably bonded to the first adhesive layer 11 and a second surface (20b, FIG. 2b) having a printed security feature 41, 42, 43 and a second adhesive layer (32, FIG. 3b) thereon. The cover film may have a thickness of no greater than 12 microns. The printed security feature may be in predetermined registration with the one or more visible registration features of the first adhesive layer.

    摘要: In one embodiment, a nonmetallic, tamper-indicating, multi-layer label with a metallic appearance is described. The label comprises a pearlescent layer, a film layer, a patterned release layer, and a pigmented adhesive layer with the provisos that (i) the pigmented adhesive layer is an exterior layer of the label and is substantially free of pearlescent pigment, and (ii) the patterned release layer is an interior layer of the label. Each layer has first and second opposing planar surfaces, and each layer is in intimate contact with the layer or layers immediately adjacent to it. In another embodiment, two layers, one layer comprising a non-pearlescent pigment and the other layer comprising the adhesive, replace the pigmented adhesive layer.

    摘要: The invention relates to a hot marking method enabling decoration to be made on an article, the method comprising the steps consisting in: supplying a multilayer structure comprising a layer of varnish that hardens under the effect of radiation, a backing layer, and a layer of decoration, the varnish layer being situated between the backing layer and the decoration layer; bringing said multilayer structure into contact with the article; applying pressure and heat to the backing layer at the location where it is desired to transfer the decoration layer onto the article, the varnish layer being such as to be transferred locally onto the article together with the decoration layer; withdrawing the backing layer; and causing the layer of varnish that has been transferred onto the article to harden by exposing it to said radiation.
