Abstract:
The present invention provides for an analog and/or digital radio broadcast transmission system and radio receiver therefor, which includes a control signal having an item of control information concerning another, different type of transmission/receive system. The receiver is a hybrid receiver able to receive both types of signals. When the same program material is available on both of the different systems, the control signal is used for switching the different systems so that the receiver receives the program on the system which provides the best reception.
Abstract:
A VHF radio receiver intended for mobile use, e.g. in a car, features inputs from multiple antennas. Each antenna signal is mixed with a locally-generated oscillator signal; the resulting mixed signals are added, with controllable phase position, to form a summation signal. Alternate frequencies, as defined by the Radio Data System (RDS) international standard, are stored. At periodic time intervals, momentary switchover is made to alternate frequencies to measure their reception quality and to store this parameter. Whenever the originally-tuned frequency provides inadequate reception quality, a control circuit 19 switches over to the best of the alternate frequencies, so quickly that the changeover is almost imperceptible to the listener.
Abstract:
A radio receiver including a first receiver and a second receiver means which sweep frequencies of the divided regions of one reception band respectively or from lower end to upper end of one reception band. A control circuit stores received broadcasting stations having the reception quality level higher than the levels specified by sweeping the first receivers and the second receiver respectively.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for aiding user content navigation are described. An exemplary system may include an electronic device configured to receive audiovisual content and/or user inputs. The electronic device may additionally include one or more outputs coupled with a display device. The electronic device may further include one or more processors as well as memory, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause them to perform one or more navigation functions to receive a channel change command to adjust from a first channel to a second channel. The one or more processors may further be caused to determine that the second channel is presenting advertising content instead of program content, and determine that a third channel is presenting program content. The one or more processors may further be caused to adjust the output to the third channel.
Abstract:
A broadcast receiving system capable of receiving mobile broadcast data and a method for processing broadcast signals are disclosed. The broadcast receiving system includes N number of antenna elements, a demodulator, a transmission parameter detector, and a block decoder. The N number of antenna elements receives each of the broadcast signals. The demodulator demodulates the broadcast signal having greater signal strength among each of the received broadcast signals. The transmission parameter detector detects the transmission parameter. The block decoder symbol-decodes the mobile broadcast service data included in the received broadcast signal in block units, based upon the detected transmission parameter.
Abstract:
A method, reception device and host device are provided for aligning data streams at a multi-source receiver. Portions of data for a plurality of data streams are received at a reception device, the plurality of data streams carrying respective content, wherein the content of each data stream is misaligned with at least one other data stream with respect to time. The portions of data are forwarded to a host device to be stored in respective delay buffers. Indexing information is maintained for each of the delay buffers. The portions of data are forwarded to the host device along with the indexing information.
Abstract:
Method for managing, in a receiver, a radio service continuity based on synchronized broadcasts of identical audio contents on different frequencies, comprising, the receiver being tuned to a first frequency corresponding to a first broadcast of a first audio content, a detection in the receiver of a second audio content broadcast on a second frequency, having a level of quality above a threshold and paired with the first audio content.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for tracking the transmission power level of a home network transmission signal based on the signal level of a received broadcast signal is described. The method includes transmitting a signal at a first transmitted level used for communicating in a home network, detecting a signal level for the transmitted signal in a circuit used for receiving a broadcast signal, determining if a gain setting value for the signal level changes, and adjusting the transmitted signal level for the transmitted signal based on the determination. The apparatus includes a network circuit that transmits a signal at a first transmitted signal level, a detector that detects the transmitted signal in a circuit for receiving a broadcast signal, and a controller that determines if a signal level setting value for the signal level changes and adjusts the transmitted signal level based on the determination.
Abstract:
Embodiments of methods and systems for reception improvement of FM tuners are provided. An example method according to the disclosure includes receiving one or more FM broadcast signals in a common channel (Co-C) situation and provides for receiving one or more FM broadcast signals, selecting a preferred signal and outputting said signal as an IF signal. When a Co-C situation occurs, the method calculates a correlation of the one or more signals and outputs the signal showing a larger consistency value.
Abstract:
A vehicle and a method for controlling the same are provided. In particular, linking information of a broadcast signal having been output during a turn-off mode is transmitted to a DAB receiver upon receiving a turn-on signal. The vehicle includes a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) receiver that is configured to receive a first DAB signal that corresponds to a selected first broadcast signal. In addition, a speaker outputs the first broadcast signal based on the received first DAB signal or a first frequency-modulation (FM) signal corresponding to the first broadcast signal. In response to receiving a turn-on signal, a controller transmits linking information of the first broadcast signal from among linking information of a plurality of broadcast signals to the DAB receiver to output the first broadcast signal output during a turn-off mode.
