Abstract:
A user electronic device comprising one or more processors; and one or more computer readable media operatively connected to the one or more processors and having stored thereon computer instructions for carrying out the steps of: (a) receiving, at the user electronic device from the computer system, a media work and one or more associated tags; (b) receiving, at the user electronic device from a user input device, a query related to at least one of the one or more associated tags; (c) obtaining, at the user electronic device, instructions for an action to be performed based on the query; and (d) performing, at the user electronic device, the associated action, in response to the query.
Abstract:
Provided is a reception device including a reception part configured to receive first content, a feature amount extraction part configured to extract a feature amount from data of the received first content, an identification result acquisition part configured to acquire an identification result for the first content identified using the extracted feature amount, a command acquisition part configured to acquire a command for controlling an operation of changing over between the first content and second content different from the first content depending on the acquired identification result, and a control part configured to control an operation of changing over from the first content to the second content in response to the acquired command.
Abstract:
A device, system and method for enabling the measuring of audiences to media consumed through the use of digital media terminals. An example disclosed herein includes a loop-back device that allows the production/extraction of content identification information from media items rendered by a digital media terminal that can be seamlessly and homogenously implemented in a wide variety of media distribution platforms and devices, including Internet and mobile networks.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for enabling a plurality of media feeds, such as internet radio stations, to be played through a standard media player, such as a radio receiving device, using the tuning or input selection controls of the media player to control the selection of which media feed to play. Identification signatures are added to channels and transmitted to the media player by transmitter. A controller captures the feedback of the media player and, if it detects one of the signature signals in the feedback, instructs the media feed selector to select a media feed which corresponds to the detected identification signature. The selected audio feed may then be transmitted to the media player on the corresponding channel for playback.
Abstract:
A system and method for identification of inappropriate multimedia content elements are provided. The method includes receiving a request to identify a multimedia content element from a user device; generating at least one signature respective of the received multimedia content element; matching between the at least one of generated signature respective of the multimedia content element and at least one signature of each concept designated as inappropriate; determining whether a match is identified between the at least one of signature generated respective of the multimedia content element and the at least one signature of an inappropriate concept; and preventing the display on a user device of the multimedia content element, upon identification of a match.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for reducing spillover in a media monitoring system are disclosed. An example method includes identifying media associated with media monitoring data. The media monitoring data is received from a first meter associated with a first media presentation device. The example method includes identifying an expected sound pressure level associated with the first meter. The example method includes comparing the expected sound pressure level to an actual sound pressure level collected from the media by the first meter to determine if spillover occurred. The example method includes crediting the media as a media exposure if spillover did not occur.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for gathering research data that includes information pertaining to audio signals received on a portable device, such as a cell phone. Frequency domain data is received or produced, a signature is extracted from the frequency domain data and an ancillary code is read from the frequency domain data.
Abstract:
A method and system for searching for mobile applications using a multimedia content element are provided. The system comprises receiving an input search query including the multimedia content element; generating at least one signature for the at least one multimedia content element; generating a textual query using at least the one generated signature; querying at least one application distribution platform using the generated textual search query; analyzing search results returned responsive to the textual query to determine relevancy of mobile applications designated in the search results to the multimedia content element; and causing the display of mobile applications on a user device submitting the input search query.
Abstract:
A method and system for creating a database of multimedia content elements assigned to users are provided. The method comprises receiving at least one parameter identifying a user; receiving at least one multimedia content element from a user device; generating at least one signature to the at least one multimedia content element; searching for the existence of the at least multimedia content element in a database using the least one generated signature to determine whether each of the at least one multimedia content element is an existing multimedia content element or a non-existing multimedia content element; and generating a unique identifier using the at least one parameters for each non-existing multimedia content element; assigning the generated unique identifier to its respective non-existing multimedia content element; and storing each of the non-existing multimedia content elements and their respective unique identifiers in the database.
Abstract:
Digital signature generation apparatus, comprising an envelope generator operable to generate an envelope representation, of only one polarity, of a sampled data segment, and operable for each of successive portions comprising a predetermined plurality of samples to provide a portion sum value as the sum the values of the samples in the portion, thereby to provide said envelope representation; a threshold value generator operable to determine a threshold value for each portion of the envelope representation; an event detector operable to detect, as an event, a transition of a portion sum value across the threshold value for the portion concerned; and a signature generator operable in response a detected event to generate a digital signature characteristic of the sampled data segment.
