In one aspect a method includes determining, by a network element and for each vectoring group from multiple vectoring groups, a transmission load of the vectoring group based on transmission loads of links within the vectoring group; allocating, by the network element, a different transmission interval to each vectoring group from the multiple vectoring groups based on the transmission load of the vectoring group and transmission loads of other vectoring groups in the multiple vectoring groups; and transmitting, during each different transmission interval, at least a portion of the transmission load of the vectoring group that was allocated the different transmission interval.

    摘要: A system and method detects within an IP network an offending network device that has been adversely affecting the IP network performance. A discovery protocol frame is propagated to successive network switches and is formed as a field having a query for inquiring within each network switch to which the frame is propagated whether the network switch has a database entry regarding the MAC address and switch port for the offending network device to locate the offending network device. This discovery protocol frame includes a command for any network switch that has the offending network device connected thereto to disable the switch port to which the offending network device is connected or block all data traffic from the MAC address of the offending network device.

Maintenance association endpoints are formed from a plurality of network switch elements to form a maintenance association. The clocks between each network switch element within the maintenance association are synchronized. A unique transmission window is assigned to each maintenance association endpoint as part of the maintenance association. A respective CFM packet is transmitted as a continuity check message (CCM) within the unique transmission window.

    摘要: A central office transceiver-installed current limiter and regulator provides fault isolation and transient load isolation in a wireline communication network, having multiple transceivers connected by respective span-powered wirelines to a common power source at the central office. Using a current-sense resistor and controlled switch in series with the wireline, the current-limiter and regulator processes input electrical power from the power source prior to coupling that power to a remote transceiver. To prevent overheating and substantial power dissipation in the current-limiting circuitry in the event of a prolonged fault condition, the controlled switch is alternately turned on and off.

    摘要: A comparator-based switchmode power converter monitors the most negative of the tip and ring line voltages, to control the supply voltage to a SLIC. The voltage applied to the SLIC's power terminals is slightly higher than the sensed voltage for different loop signaling conditions, including loop start, ground start balanced ringing. The switchmode converter includes a comparator coupled to a DC-DC output node downstream of a MOSFET switch installed in a DC supply rail of a source of DC supply voltage, and coupled to a power supply terminal of the SLIC. The comparator is also coupled to a set point node, which is coupled through a voltage offset path to each of tip and ring portions of the telephone line. The comparator functions to control the conductivity of the MOSFET to provide a modulated DC voltage to the SLIC, in accordance with that one of tip and ring loop voltages having the largest magnitude, so as to provide power supply tracking during loop current, superimposed voice signals, loop start, ground start and balanced ringing.
