Abstract:
A cable connector connects a coaxial cable to an interface port by an outer conductor engager, a body and a coupler. The coupler draws the body over a plurality of resilient fingers of the outer conductor engager to urge the fingers into electrical contact with a peripheral outer surface of a stripped/prepared end of a coaxial cable.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed a directional Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) filter. The MoCA filter can include a first port and a second port. Additionally, the MoCA filter can include a bidirectional path and a unidirectional path in parallel between the first port and the second port. Further, the unidirectional path can include an active isolator or a passive isolator.
Abstract:
A cable television (CATV) entry adapter interfaces to a CATV network and serves as a hub in an in-home network for passively communicating multimedia content or information from the CATV network and between subscriber devices connected to the ports of the CATV entry adapter, using CATV signals in a CATV frequency band and network signals in a different in-home network band.
Abstract:
A cable transition device includes a support sleeve and a sealing member. The support sleeve is configured to be inserted between a structural overwrap and a compliant outer jacket of a coaxial cable, wherein the compliant outer jacket surrounds signal-carrying conductors and extends beyond a terminal end of a stepped transition. The sealing member is configured to be disposed over the stepped transition of the coaxial cable so as to seal the stepped transition portion of the coaxial cable during operation of the cable transition device.

Abstract:
A tensile-force buffering apparatus interposes a physical structure and a drop clamp having a messenger of an input drop cable secured thereto. The tensile-force buffering apparatus includes an outer housing defining an elongate inner cavity and a retainer, and a spring-strut assembly. The spring-strut assembly includes a central shaft, a retention member at a first end of the central shaft, and a coil spring disposed about the central shaft. The spring-strut assembly is received in the cavity of the outer housing, and the retention member is held by the retainer while a load compressing the coil spring is less than a predetermined threshold load. The retention member is released from the outer housing when the load compressing the coil spring reaches the predetermined threshold load, thereby effecting separation of the spring-strut assembly from the outer housing.
Abstract:
A breakaway connector is configured to couple prepared ends of a pair of coaxial cables. The breakaway connector includes a first adaptor portion and a second adaptor portion. The first adaptor portion is configured to be coupled to a prepared end of a first coaxial cable and includes a first conductive outer body having a resilient coupling member. The second adaptor portion is configured to be coupled to a prepared end of a second coaxial cable and includes a second conductive outer body having a second coupling member configured to be coupled with the resilient coupling member. The breakaway connector is configured to maintain grounding and shielding conductivity of the pair of coaxial cables through the first conductive outer body and the second conductive outer body up to a threshold level of tension being applied to the first coaxial cable or the second coaxial cable. The first conductive outer body and the second conductive body are configured to decouple and cease grounding and shielding conductivity of the pair of coaxial cables when a level of tension being applied to the first coaxial cable or the second coaxial cable exceeds the threshold level.
Abstract:
A connector is provided for attachment to a coaxial cable. The connector includes, in one embodiment, a connector body and a locking sleeve. The locking sleeve is configured to be moved between an attached and a detached state. In each such state, the locking sleeve is configured to receive the end of the cable. In one position, the locking sleeve is configured to lock the end of the cable to the connector body.
Abstract:
A cable connector comprising a connector body, a compression member operably connected to a second end of the connector body, the compression member including a compression portion having a forward facing surface, wherein the compression portion protrudes from an inner surface of the compression member, wherein, when the compression member is slidably axially compressed within the connector body, the compression portion of the compression member compresses an inner sleeve into crimping engagement with a coaxial cable is provided. An associated method is also provided.
Abstract:
A cable television (CATV) entry adapter connects to a CATV network and serves as a hub in an In-Home Entertainment (IHE) network. IHE signals may be communicated between passive and active ports of an embodiment of the entry adapter through a pair of directional couplers which allow an IHE-enabled embedded multimedia terminal device (eMTA) at the passive port to communicate with multimedia devices of the IHE network connected to the active ports. An IHE frequency rejection filter is used in some embodiments to confine IHE signal to a single subscriber premise. In some embodiments a bidirectional IHE bandpass filter is used to enable IHE signals to pass between the passive and active ports of the CATV entry adapter.
